She had to warn him. She ran into the room "Altaïr! Don't drink the-" she was too late. He was already laying on the floor; the spilled glass of poisoned wine lay next to his limp hand. The other assassin smiled, raising his glass and asked, "Would you like a glass my dear?"

"Traitor!" She yelled at him

He set his glass down. "Not a traitor," he said as he pulled off his hood and assassin robe revealing a white tunic emblazoned with a red cross. "A spy."

She drew her dagger "Then you will not leave here alive. You will die for killing Altaïr!"

The Templar chuckled "My dear, he's not dead yet. You can still save him."

She looked at Altaïr. He was lying so still. He certainly looked dead. "You-you're lying!"

"I wouldn't do that to you my dear." The Templar pulled out a small glass vial filled with a pale pink liquid "Here is the antidote and all you have to do to get it, my dear, is let me go."

"Why can't I just kill you and take it?"

"Because you don't know how much to give him. Too much or too little and he'll die just the same."

She gripped her dagger tightly and looked between them. Save Altaïr and let the spy go or kill the spy and let Altaïr die? She could take a chance and kill the spy and try to save Altaïr, but that was likely to fail.

"Decide quickly my dear, his time is growing short."

She sighed and sheathed her dagger. "Alright, fine. Hand it over."

The Templar tossed the vial to her and said, "Give him half of it."

The Templar started to walk away but she held up her hand to stop him "Hold on. You are not leaving until I know this works."

"I suppose that is fair." He folded his arms and leaned against the wall

She kneeled down next to Altaïr. Then looked at the vial. She needed something to put half of it in. She looked around. Ah, there was an empty glass on the table. She stood up and walked over to the table and was reaching for it when the Templar spoke up, "Ah, ah. I wouldn't touch that." She turned and looked at him. "The glasses are poisoned. I didn't do anything to the wine."

She glared at him as she walked back to Altaïr. "You are lucky I'm not killing you right now."

"Oh yes, I feel honored that you didn't double cross me as soon as you got what you needed." He said mockingly

"Shut up!" She hissed "Or I will kill you."

He raised his hands defensively "I was just trying to help, I didn't want you accusing me of lying when the mistake was yours."

"Just be quiet!" She pulled Altaïr into her lap and uncapped the vial. She raised it to Altaïr's lips and judged how much she was giving him. "There. Half." She said holding up the vial. She recapped it and noticed Altaïr hadn't moved yet. She looked up at the Templar "Why isn't it working? You said it'd work!"

"Give it a minute my dear. He'll wake up. And If he doesn't, you didn't do something right."

She glared at him. She'd been tolerant enough of him. She reached for Altaïr's throwing knives on his belt but as she was pulling one out, she felt him move. Altaïr moaned and slowly opened his eyes. She smiled and pulled him into a hug.

"Well then, I guess I'll be going then." The Templar said walking towards the door. He had put his assassin hood and robe back on.

As he walked by, she issued a warning "I never want to see you here again. If I do, I will kill you."

The Templar nodded in agreement. He'd already gotten all the information he had wanted anyway. Then he continued on his way out.
