A/N: This is part of the Royal Flush Challenge on the POT Stands for Pointless but Original Talking! forum. This is my crappy try at Thrill Pair. I'm just posting here so others can see my pathetic attempt at this challenge. I already posted my five stories to the forum, though. Hah. My deed is done.
It made no sense to him. What he saw in the first year, not even he knew. Maybe his determination, and the fact they had almost the same resolve, he was unsure. Up until the final match, the capped boy didn't care much for tennis, almost like the tensai himself - though Fuji had found his resolve to play recently. But now, Echizen's determination was rivaled by no one; he had found his reason to play - and the tensai really didn't know what to think.
"Fuji-senpai," the freshman Ace started, taking a small sip of Ponta while he slouched boredly against the tree. "You shouldn't think so much. Focus on the game ahead."
And that was just the reason why Fuji Syuusuke liked Echizen Ryoma. The cockiness, the bored tone, the way he was arrogant even without trying. Maybe all he saw in Echizen was Tezuka Kunimitsu. But it wasn't like it mattered. Echizen was Echizen - with or without the stoic expression - and he was who Fuji saw the most potential in.
