I feel the time tick away
as this poison courses through my veins.
My heart beats rapidly
to the beat of an unseen drum;
It feels like it is about to burst
and explode out of me.
I don't know how long I have
until it finally finishes me off.
This poison is my hunter
and I its helpless prey.
It has cornered me
and will never let me go;
Squeezing every ounce of life I have
out of my soon lifeless body.
It is becoming harder to take in air,
sweet air that keeps me alive.
I gasp as the hunter constricts my lungs,
trying to slowly suffocate me
until I give into the ever growing darkness
that is slowly enveloping me;
Welcoming me into its tendrils...
