The Trick
I walked into the heads common room only to find a Christmas tree shinning brightly. The elegant globes hanging from each branch evenly so no part looked more crowded, the lights and stringed popcorn blended perfectly together and the red and gold garland crossed to make a perfect mix. Then there was enchanted snow gingerly falling from nowhere, but the most perfect part of all was a beautiful angel at the very top of the tree. Her gown was fluffy white silk and fuzzy wings spread on her back, a smile painted on her face and a golden halo shinning above her blond. It was the prettiest sight I'd ever seen; the lights were slightly dimmed and soft music was playing in the background as I walked closer to the couch. I saw some blond and messy black hair next to each other I turned around to face the couch but I tripped over the coffee table and looked up into the beautiful hazel eyes which belonged to James Potter.
"Hey Lily, I must have forgotten to tell you I have a date tonight, you know Ashley."
The girl with long straight bleach blond hair stood up. It was Ashley Murphy, me and Ashley have been arch enemies since the moment we met each other on the train on the way to Hogwarts -- I accidentally bumped into her and she's been out to get me ever since.
"Hey Lily," she said moving closer to me. "How are you?" She smiled and gave me a hug. But while she was hugging me she whispered something so only I could hear it, "Listen Lily get out of here, James never did and never will like you. He was trying to make me jealous and it worked."
I felt my face become hot and a tear rolled down my cheek. I ran into my room and fell onto my bed letting the tears take over. A few minutes later someone came into my room, but I didn't bother to look up.
"Hi Lily," It was James. "What's up why did you just run away like that?" He sat at the edge of my bed and started stroking my hair while I calmed down to tell him.
"S- She and y-you d-d-don't love m-m-m-e," That's all I could get out before the tears took over again.
"Shhh. Lily, I will always love you no matter what! Do you understand?" His voice was soothing but firm and for once in six years I finally understood that James Potter actually did love me.
"I love you too," With that, I kissed him right on the lips. I felt instant sparks and warmth from head to toe, and I knew me and James were meant to be. He ended the kiss and told me to get some sleep, and then he left the room.
James Potter entered the common room lost in thought. When he turned to look at the couch instead of finding a pouting Ashley, he saw a smirking Sirius Black.
"Prongs mate please tell me that plan worked, 'cause if not I wasted a month of Moony's time getting him to make the Polyjucie potion. Then I had to flirt with that Ashley girl to get a piece of her hair and then I had to take that nasty potion and flirt shamelessly with you," Sirius said while twitching in disgust.
"Man it worked. Oh it worked," replied James with an enormous grin on his face.
A/N Hello to you all! I am feeling very creative (this is my second piece in two days). In case you don't get the story here it is: James knew that Lily and Ashley hated each other so he made Sirius take the Polyjucie potion and pretended to be on a date with Ashley (Sirius) and then Sirius had to make Lily cry, then James had to see if she was ok and they would be pushed together. The plan worked of course. Well ttfn please review!
PS: My sister helped me edit this, so if there're any mistakes left it's all my fault, lol.
