The Filmmaker Cannot See

Sometimes Mark just didn't understand it. How did some stay happy when there was nothing left to be happy for? How could they go through everyday pretending everything was fine, when it was clear it was not?

That's why he didn't understand Mimi's philosophies. She'd always preached no day but today and tried to be strong to the very end. Even when it was clear that it could only go downhill from there.

And yet he admired her. He admired her for the very reason he didn't understand her. He could never find a way to feel better about what was happening to their group of friends…yet Mimi clung to hope.

He would never forget all she taught him, even if he himself couldn't apply it to his life with ease. And as he tossed a flower onto Mimi's grave and Collins called to him, he knew that no one would ever be able to take the place Mimi and Roger held in his heart.

AN: I hope you enjoyed that little drabblish story.
