Prologue: Sure, strong, a predator.
I've been a vampire since the beginning of the world. Literally. My very existence began as the world began. For millions of years I was so alone, weak, with nothing to feed on. The first animals appeared and I fed hungrily of them, my strength appearing. I was so sure, strong, a predator. Dinosaurs ran away from me as if all the ghosts from hell were following them.
It is now the 21st century. I have seen the entire world. I know every fact. There are many humans about, and I try to act like them. If a vampire comes I will hide until they have gone. I am the peaceful kind, just feeding of animals, alone in the world. I have never met another vampire who is a 'vegetarian' like me.
I am the most powerful being on the planet, being the first living creature. I can read every thought that anyone ever thought, every emotion that anyone ever felt, everything they have seen, done. I have super strength. I have never been defeated. I have super speed. I can move things with my mind. And I am sure, strong, a predator.
But I'm alone, no friends, no soul mate, and I have given up trying to find the right people.
Sure, strong, a predator. But Alone.
