Bulgy Weapons & Tentacle Goo

A/N: Set soon after the group first came together in the Chaos trilogy.

"HERE!"

Atlanta had been patting the many pockets on her capris in hopes of finding her bolas.

No such luck.

Some…thing…was currently attacking the park, its tentacles oozing goo on playground equipment. This was the first time that the group had ever tried using PMRs to round the team up for a battle, and it wasn't going quite as well as Jay had hoped. Archie and Atlanta had been with him at the time Hera gave them the news, but the rest of the team was currently scattered around the city.

Unfortunately for Atlanta, she'd decided it wasn't necessary to carry bulgy weapons around with her for no reason.

She wouldn't make that mistake again.

She desperately tried checking her pockets for her bolas, just in case they'd magically made their way in there that morning. Jay took notice, and tossed her his sword to use while he fended it off with his baton.

Archie and Jay ran up ahead of her to fend off the beast until more help arrived. Sadly, this was a battle for seven - not three. Two with Atlanta currently staring at the sword in her hands.

Archie was knocked to the ground in a puddle of green slime. Jay had got a good hit in, and the monster was currently staggering in hopes to keep its balance. He glanced briefly over to his redheaded team-mate across the park. She hadn't moved since Jay had offered her a weapon, yet she didn't look particularly scared of frightened of the sticky monster.

She just looked confused.

Atlanta held the sword awkwardly as she tried to get a good grip on it, but fumbled it repeatedly in the process. Archie furrowed his brows until he realized what the problem was.

"Atlanta! Throw it!"

Atlanta had little experience with swords, and it was easily apparent by the puzzled look on her face when she'd picked it up. She'd had far less training with Ares and the others as Artemis often whisked her away for target practice while the others practiced hand-to-hand.

Archie's idea seemed to make sense in her mind though, as she looked down at the sword in her hands, back to Archie, then finally at the beast's back. She pulled the sword over her shoulder as if it were a javelin, then took careful aim at the left side of the monster.

Right about where its heart would be.

The others had just arrived in Herry's truck with their weapons drawn. It wasn't really necessary anymore though.

"All right Atlanta!" Jay called from his side of the park, wiping tentacle goo off his face.

Archie was stunned at the damage the small girl had done from the other side of the park. She'd used her speed and strength to hurtle the heavy sword 100 feet across the park to the monster - though she'd almost dislocated her shoulder in the process. All that was left of the beast was the memory of it's piercing scream when the sword had made impact and a rather large puddle of it's sticky remains.

To be honest, he'd meant throw the sword to him to use. But this worked too.

A/N: While Atlanta probably can use a sword just as good as the rest of them, I thought this would be a way to show some of her unique talents. Not much AxA action, more friendship if anything. Ciao.
