Pulling away

Summary: He could see her pulling away but felt powerless to stop it. set during HSM2 TxG, slight RxG, drabble
A/N: found the ending of this drabble in my writing binder and felt inspire to finish it. let me know what you think. :)
He watched the two of them together. She looked happier than she did with him lately. It seemed like all he did was hurt her. And she was pulling away. He could see it but couldn't do anything to stop it. He saw her with the other guy and although he knew nothing was going on between them, that just wasn't her style, it still hurt. He knew that he was filling his spot not just in her life but in his friends' lives. Filling his spot in the baseball game, his role in their lives. What do you do when you see it happening right in front of you and you feel powerless to stop it?
He loved her and didn't want to hurt her anymore but he didn't know how to fix everything. How do you fix something when you're not sure how you got there in the first place? Maybe she was better off without him, as much as it hurt to think that. Maybe he should just let her go she'd be better off with him, he'd treat her better than he ever did.
To watch the one you love pull away and be able to do nothing to stop it is the worst feeling in the world and he, Troy Bolton, would do anything to make it stop. If only he could figure out where to start. He'd do it because he loved her, Gabriella Montez and he didn't want to think of life without her.
