The battle was raging on ferociously, the two shadowy figures were fighting it out with the strongest Pokemon they had, the first figure had a Salamence, the second with a Tyranitar, these were two extremely powerful Pokemon. This was looking like it was going to be an intense battle "Salamence flamethrower!" the first shadow commanded "Tyranitar... Do as you wish" and the huge beast proceeded to fire a hyper beam to respond from the fiery attack of its dragon opponent ploughing straight through it and scoring a direct hit on Salamence, knocking it out. What was the next Pokemon this mysterious figure would send out, he reached to his belt and pulled out a poke ball, a bright light shone from it and the man with the Tyranitar reeled back in fear...

Dan Woke up... "Just a dream... But it seemed so real..." Dan thought to himself as he was getting out of bed, but there wasn't any time for thinking about that, he was too excited! Today was the day that he got his very first Pokemon! Dan loved Pokemon, all of them, especially the two they kept as house pets, one being his mothers and the other his fathers. But today was the day he could finally have his own and set out on his own adventure! Living in the Hoenn region was different to him as he could see many Pokemon he wouldn't have normally seen in Unova however there were rumours going around that some Pokemon had appeared that weren't normally local to the region, this filled Dan with even more excitement! As he headed downstairs putting on his running shoes his running shoes on in a hurry as he rushed out the door only having the time to quickly say goodbye to his mother but still found 5 minutes to spend time with the pets, Scrap the Poochyena and Missy the Glameow, he wasn't too keen on Missy
"The stupid Pokémon is too full of itself, it thinks it runs this place" Dan said to his mother when first seeing the cat-like creature for the first time, his mother then proceeded to tell him off insisting that he respects all the family pets and not just his fathers Poochyena, but the thing was about 5 years old and still acted like a puppy when they first found it.

But enough on that, this story is about Dan, he rushed out the door and ran straight towards the professors lab. Professor Birch was the region professor of the Hoenn region and was the man who gave new trainers their starter Pokémon and today it was finally Dan's turn! He ran straight into the lab seeming to have no regard for anyone's privacy.
"PROFESSOR I'M HERE!" Dan screamed at the top of his lungs
"Dan is that you?" Birch came out of his office looking exhausted
"Professor are you okay?" Dan questioned the researcher
"Perfectly fine thank you" he replied, "now I already know why you are here so we'll get right down to getting you your starter Pokémon" Birch said turning towards Dan and smiling. "Well here they are!" The professor said releasing 3 Pokémon from their balls, there was a green gecko looking Pokémon, an orange chick Pokémon and a blue mudfish Pokémon with orange fins.
"Oh I know these Pokémon!" Dan cried out enthusiastically "The green one is Treeko, a grass type Pokémon, The orange one is Torchic, a fire type Pokémon and the blue one is Mudkip, a water type Pokémon."
"My you have studied!" Birch stated with a somewhat shocked look on his face
"Yep" Dan replied quickly with a smirk on his face "I already know which one I want, I've thought long and hard about it and I want...
