Chapter 0 Prologue
Avalona Galaxy, Terra, Atlantis, 17.8 Million Years Ago
In one of Atlantis' many hidden special rooms a small group of Alterra where working on a special device that would allow them to experience many lifetimes and be reborn. It took many years of arduous research for the device to be completed. The various simulations they had conducted showed promising results. The device did require that a memory trigger to be programmed for each individual to use the device. After each of the members of the group decided what their personal memory trigger would be, they used the device.
The device used a special form of ethereal energy that programmed a set of instructions straight into their souls. These instructions were as follows;
1. Upon experiencing the memory trigger, all the memories of all of the previous lives will return over a time span of two weeks.
2. Upon experiencing the memory trigger, ones body will begin to change to that of Alterran in the time span of two weeks
3. Upon experiencing the memory trigger, the recipient will regain all their previously obtained knowledge and skills at the same time as the corresponding memory.
4. The recipient will be aware of what is happening and why they should keep it quit.
Little did they know that this device which they called the Transcendence device would be one of the only ways to escape the Plague that would soon strike their people.
Pegasus Galaxy, Lantea, Atlantis, 10.000 Years Ago
The Lanteans had begun their evacuation. The Lantean known as Janus along with time-displaced doctor Weir had come up with a plan the ensure that the cities power levels for longer period of time. In addition to this plan he programmed a fail-safe that would release the mechanism holding the city on the ocean floor to rise to the surface. After Janus and the remaining Lanteans had returned through the gate back to Earth. Doctor Weir enacted their plan and went into stasis, only waking every 3.3 thousand years to rotate the ZPM's.
Little did they know that a small group of about thirty Lanteans had stayed behind in experimental stasis pods enhanced with time dilation fields which were set to a ration of 1:3.300. one year to them would be 3.3 thousand years in normal time. These stasis pods were located in one of the hidden rooms of Atlantis and had its own dedicated ZPM.
