It was 5:45 on valentine's day, and Kevin didn't need to pick Gwen up for their date till 6:00, so Kevin was waiting in his car, which was parked in front of Gwen's house.
He listened to the radio, which was on his favorite rock station as he watched the digital clock in his car.
Kevin then looked into the car mirror and messed with his hair a bit, trying to make it look nice for Gwen. But then finding it stupid, he fixed his hair back to the way it was.
It was just a causal date, just dinner and a movie, so he wore his normal black shirt.
Though he still wanted to look nice.
She always looks so beautiful, and I always look like... Well, a bum. He thought.
He was about to check the time again when Ben and Julie came up to the car.
Kevin rolled down the window so he could talk to them.
"What the heck are you guys wearing?", he asked after seeing their outfits.
Ben was wearing a simple, white toga which came off one shoulder. He also wore brown leather sandals which laced up to his knees.
Julie wore a plain white dress that stopped at her knees. She wore pink ballet flats which also laced up to her knees.
Both wore fake, medium sized angel wings made of fake white feathers which were attached to the back of their clothes.
Both had a quiver of arrows slung across their shoulders and a bow.
Though the bows and arrows were red and made of plastic, and red hearts replaced the sharp tips of the arrows.
"These are our Cupids outfits", answered Ben.
"Well, what are they for?".
"They're for our valentine's dance at school", Said Julie. "It's a costumed party.
"Shouldn't you guys be at the dance then?" Kevin asked them.
"It doesn't start till 6:30!" answered Ben. "Anyway, we just stopped by on our way there to see if you guys wanted to use some love arrows on yourselves!"
"Why would I want to use a "love arrow"?"
"To just get into the spirit of valentine's day a little more!" exclaimed Julie.
"Well, I don't want your stupid "love arrows"!" said Kevin.
"Aww, don't be such a party pooper, Kevin", said Ben. "It'll be fun!"
"I said I didn't want any!" Kevin then checked the time. It was 5:58.
"I gotta go". Kevin then grabbed the small, heart-shaped box of candy he bought for Gwen, opened the car door, got out, shut the door, then walked up to Gwen's door.
He rang the doorbell, and Gwen answered.
"Hey Kevin", she greeted.
She wore a pink sweater with a big, red heart on it, and white pants.
She had her hair down and wore a pair of earrings to match her sweater. She also wore a little blush and pink lip gloss.
She looks so beautiful, he thought.
"These are for you", he said, holding out the box of candy to Gwen.
"Aww, thank you you Kevin. You're so sweet!" She took the box of candy and gave Kevin a little peck on the cheek.
Kevin then got that happy feeling deep down inside that he always got when they kissed.
They then walked back to Kevin's car.
"Hey guys", Gwen said to Ben and Julie, who were still standing by Kevin's car.
She didn't seem to notice their outfits.
"Hey", they said back.
Gwen and Kevin walked to the passenger side, and Kevin, being the gentleman with rouge-ish charm that he is, opened the door for Gwen.
"Thanks", she said.
Kevin then walked back to the driver's side.
Just as he was about to open the door, Ben whispered to him.
"Are you sure you don't want any love arrows?"
"I'm sure", Kevin said back.
"Why?"
"Because I'm already in love".
