Reapings

Disclaimer: I had the most horrible revelation... ever..... I'm not JKR. -gasp!-
Summary: Severus hoped this day would never come, but he knew as well as any that man reaps what he sows.
A/U: This has lived in my hard drive for the last few months. It asked to be posted.
Review? Please?
The air was crisp with the final stages of autumn, but it may as well have been midwinter in northern Scotland for all he knew.
It was only hours ago that he had learned of his once friend's fate.
The old man's face was worn, every year as old as over a century and two wars would age a man. There was no hate or disgust in the eyes behind half moon spectacles that he was so familiar with. There was no relief from the close of the war. Only sorrow and the boding feel of impending bad news.
His voice was soft, bearing the responsibility of conferring the high price paid.
He had hoped (prayed- begged), futilely, this day would never come. The hope was in vain.
As the fateful words escaped the mouth of headmaster Severus Snape's world came to an abrupt, screeching, painful end- much like a speeding muggle automobile hitting a brick wall.
Lily was dead.
Time lost meaning.
Lily was dead.
Words lost value.
Lily was dead.
Condolences were lost on deaf ears.
Lily was dead.
And life lost reason.
Because Lily was dead.
Severus hoped this day would never come- but he knew as well as any man that we reap what we sow... And Severus sows death.
