Sonia looked at the boy standing by himself, under the shade of one of the palm trees. It was a shame that he wouldn't remember her. At least, not yet. It was all a part of the plan, but she couldn't help but feel a tang of worry that it wouldn't be the same when they left this island. This was what he had wanted.

Tanaka looked up as he saw the girl walking towards him. She was beautiful, and had a smile that he could tell was meant to hide all of the trouble she had been through. He didn't understand why she would be coming up to him, when a few seconds ago she had been playing in the water with everyone else. Only he, the short blond guy, and one or two others hadn't joined in the fun.

"Why are sitting here by yourself Mr. Tanaka? Don't you want to join us?" She asked him.

"I would rather sit here and conspire with my four davos of destruction." He answered her. He wondered how she knew his name, and why she had bothered to come up to him. It wasn't often that mortals approached him.

"Oh, how cute!" She said, her eyes sparkling as she looked at them. It was like meeting him for the first time all over again. There wasn't any sign of the warmth for her that had grown after their years together. Sonia wasn't going to give up hope though. If he could open up and love her once, she could get him to do it again.

Even though he couldn't remember, he knew that he knew this girl. He could tell that she was special. His hamsters immediately ran up to her and allowed her to pet them. His eyes grew wide as he watched them, they had never warmed up to someone so quickly. If his hamsters knew her, or at least were willing to trust her, that meant she was something else. He moved his scarf up above his mouth to cover the blush that was appearing on his face.

At least the hamsters remembered her. "You don't have to sit here by yourself Mr. Tanaka, we all would be happy if you were to join us." When she looked up, she could see he was hiding a blush, just like he used to. She felt a little flash of hope.

"You have fun with your mortal activities. I shall sit here where my body's poison won't affect you weaklings."

He could see the disappointment flash in her eyes, but she kept smiling. "Well, if you change your mind, we shall be over there." As she turned and walked away, he felt a pang in his chest. It was something he wasn't used to. Maybe he had made a mistake in refusing her offer. She must not be a normal mortal if she had this effect on him.

He sat there for a few more minutes until he decided he would risk it and join his classmates. He decided against a swim suit and rather just took his shirt and jacket off, leaving the scarf on. His hamsters disappeared into his scarf and he slowly walked over to the group that was playing by the water. The little blonde girl was building a sand castle, while the athlete girl and the big guy were throwing a Frisbee back and forth.

The girl was with a red head, their feet in the water, splashing each other as they giggled. Tanaka walked up to her, since she was the only one who had shown any interest in him. "Miss, I have decided to grace your presence and join in your peculiar mortal activities."

"Sonia, Sonia Nevermind." She answered as she looked at him, still smiling. She clasped her hands together. "I am so happy that you are joining us Mr. Tanaka." Sonia wanted nothing more than to pull him into a hug, but she restrained herself. It was going to take a lot of self-control not to mess this up. Maybe she should have let Monomi erase her memories too. But then, who knows what would happen? Someone had to be in control.
