chapter 1
Ruby sighed looking out the window of the bus, she jumped slightly pulling out her headphones in the process when something hit her arm. Her friend laughed "dude calm down, we're here" ruby rubbed the back of her neck mumbling "whatever." they got off the bus and ruby immediately blushed when a girl walked by her, amethyst shoved her shoulder "isn't that the girl your into?" ruby blushed deeper "y-yeah, i want to be partners but there's no way i can with pearl being well pearl" amethyst nodded walking ruby trying to stop her cursing under her breath when amethyst continued walking. Ruby ran after amethyst hearing the end of her ask "hey could ruby partner up with sapphire?" pearl looked down at her "why, is ruby that weird athlete?" ruby chuckled "hey, i'm not any weird athlete" amethyst smirked looking over at sapphire who was blushing lightly "what do you say sapph?" the taller girl looked over at ruby her blush getting darker "sure i don't really care" they all looked over at the tall girl who was obviously upset "sapphire?! We were supposed to partner up and work on things while we were here" sapphire nodded "and now we're not, just partner up with amethyst, you'll be fine you're a big kid now" amethyst chuckled watching ruby and sapphire walk away. Pearl looked down at amethyst "why did ruby want to do that?" amethyst looked down "i don't know if i can say" pearl rolled her eyes "let's just get this field trip over with"
Ruby was walking next to sapphire, she smiled when sapphire laughed at what he said. Ruby smiled down at her "I've never heard your laugh before" sapphire blushed looking up at her mumbling "sorry" ruby shook her head "no, i like it! It's cute" sapphire blushed mumbling a "thanks."
They were standing near cliff edge the sun starting to set making the sky shine with orange and pink and purple. Ruby smiled down at sapphire mumbling "can i say something?" sapphire blushed "i have to say something too" ruby nodded "you first" sapphire shook her head "just say yours" ruby sighed "ok, umm i like you… like a lot" sapphire blushed "that was what i wanted to say" ruby smiled blushing deeply she grabbed sapphires hand rubbing her thumb across the back of her hand she looked over to the sky letting out a squeak of surprise when sapphire stood on her tiptoes and kissed her. Ruby smiled down at her looking over when their teacher called everyone back onto the bus.
While they where going home she felt sapphire rest her head on her shoulder falling asleep, amethyst looked over at them "so how did things go today?" ruby looked over at sapphire and back at amethyst "i'm wanting to ask her to be my girlfriend" amethyst nodded "you're really into her huh?" ruby nodded "yeah, i just don't want to come on too strong. I really don't want to fuck this up" amethyst smirked "damn."
They got back to the school and got off the bus and where walking into the school, sapphire froze when she saw her mom "ruby, let go of my hand" the taller girl did as she said "d-did i make you uncomfortable? I-i'm sorry" sapphire shook her head "no I'm fine ruby, my mom's not. She'll freak out if she sees me holding your hand" ruby nodded "why? Does she know that you're…" she stopped making sapphire laugh "i'm gay ruby" ruby nodded "ok, i didn't want to assume" sapphire nodded walking out to the car and turned around only to see ruby getting slapped by someone, she rushed over to the taller girl "are you ok? Who was that?" ruby sighed her hand still over the red mark on her face, "that's my ex lapis, i guess she saw he holding your hand" sapphire nodded "did something happen between you two did i get in the way?" ruby shook her head "no, she's just jealous. I really do like you and she's just being crazy, one of the reasons I broke up with her earlier this year" sapphire nodded jumping when she heard her mom honk the car horn. She rolled her eyes "sorry about my mom, i'll see you later. Text me tonight" ruby nodded giving her a quick hug before being dragged away by amethyst.
