James was sitting on the couch in apartment 2J, contemplating his relationship with Logan. More specifically, whether or not it was appropriate to spill his guts to his brainiac friend.
It had all started with a nightmare, which he'd awoken from in Logan's arms. The smaller boy had comforted him, tucked him back into his bed, and told him goodnight. Quite an innocent interaction really, but something about it had stirred emotions in James that he'd rather not think about.
Of course he had thought about them; a lot. For two weeks, he'd watched Logan, gauged every interaction they'd ever had. He had practically stalked Logan.
After those two weeks, James had come to the realization (after much agony, as James was not the best at figuring himself out) that he was, in fact, in love with Logan.
Of course, with this realization came an even more agonizing decision; should he tell Logan, or not?
Deciding he needed help in the matter, James got out his laptop to IM Kendall, seeing as Kendall and Logan were recording that day at Rocque Records.
He could always tell Kendall anything, without worrying about being judged. Kendall always knew what to do.
He pulled up his blonde friend on IM.
James: Do you have a minute? I need to ask you something.
Kendall: Sure, what's up?
James took a deep breath, knowing that beating around the bush would get him nowhere.
James: Well, I kinda think I'm in love with Logan. No, I know I'm in love with him. I don't know if I should tell him. What do you think? What will he say?
James hit send, letting out a breath. Getting that off his chest felt good. Kendall would know exactly what he should do, he would be supportive, and no matter what, he wouldn't laugh or get mad.
But James began to worry; Kendall's reply was taking quite a long time.
He felt his heart take up residence in his throat when the reply finally came through.
?: James, who do you think this is…?
James: Kendall
?: This is Logan.
James nearly screamed, slamming his laptop shut, practically throwing it from his lap onto the coffee table.
"Oh my god," he gasped. "That didn't just happen. That can't have just happened."
He sat there for a good ten minutes, staring at the computer like it was going to come alive and bite him.
His phone rang, making him jump.
The caller ID flashed "Logan" at him, and James wanted to puke.
It became clear after a few rings that Logan wasn't going to just hang up. James answered it, sure that Logan was going to yell at him, to be disgusted.
"Hello…"
"James?"
"I'm so sorry Logan! I thought you were Kendall. I just needed advice. I'm so confused right now. I understand if you hate me-"
Logan cut him off. "James whoa! Slow down. Why would I hate you? I'm not mad, and there's nothing to apologize for."
"But-"
"James, just calm down, okay. I'll be back at the apartment in five minutes. We can talk then okay?"
James gulped. "Okay."
James was standing awkwardly in the kitchen when Logan walked in. His eyes locked on the beautiful brunette and he thought he might die. He couldn't read Logan's expression, he was just aware that he was walking towards him very quickly.
"Logan-"
Logan silenced James with a finger to his lips. "Did you mean it?"
James nodded, sheepish.
Logan nodded, and before James knew what was happening, Logan had pulled him into a kiss. A kiss that was more amazing than any James had ever experienced in his entire life.
Logan was breathless when he pulled away. "I love you."
James grinned. "I love you, too."
And with that they locked into another passionate embrace.
