Say Yes
Neji and TenTen had been going out for about…1 year now, and ideas started roaming into Neji's head. Not perverted thoughts… but ones on his future.
He was walking down the sidewalk, just passing the Yamanaka flower shop. And got his best thought yet.
He walked into the flower shop and waited for Ino to come out.
"Who're the flowers for, Neji?" Ino asked as she walked in hearing the little bell.
"Someone." Neji said trying not to make eye-contact.
"Okay…Creepy. Whaddya want?"
"Anything."
Ino got different flowers, including many ones that TenTen liked. Cuz' she had that feeling it was for her. She set them gently on the counter and went to the register. Neji sat some money down, grabbed the bouquet, and left. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Ino give a sly smile and pick up the phone. He had to hurry.
TenTen was sitting on the couch, watching a Ninja-related show, when the phone rang. She picked it up and…
"Hello?"
"Hey, TenTen, it's me Ino."
"Hiya!"
"Guess what?"
"What?"
"Neji just bought some flowers and is heading towards your house!"
"Really?"
"Really! Now go get dressed!" Ino then hung up.
Neji was turning the corner and saw her house. He then started to sprint.
He got to her door and knocked. When she answered it… he stared, praying to God he wasn't drooling. They just stood there for a moment. Neji in a Tux. TenTen in the first dress he had ever seen her in. Staring. Neji finally choked up some words.
"Um…Hi…I…Uh." Neji shut himself up before he killed himself. He grabbed her hand and lead her to a fancy restaurant thingy. He had reservations so they went into the back.
They had ceased to talk since Neji shut up. TenTen was starting to get annoyed by the silence so she tried to talk.
"Sooo….Why are we here?"
"…Because I need to…ask you something."
"…"
Neji took a deep breath and stood up.
"We've only known each other since the moment we met, but it seems like forever to me. I haven't figured out the perfect way to say it yet, but I suppose at times like these, a man should get down on his knees…"
"O.o"
"How'd'ya like to be in my wedding… How'd'ya like to walk down the aisle… You could be the center of attention. Everyone would look at you and smile. We could send our friends invitations. You could wear a long white dress. If you'd like to be in my wedding, darlin', All'ya have to do is say yes."
By now, TenTen's face was burning. She could feel that. She was now deciding though…whether to say yes or no.
"Your folks could be seated in the very front row, and cry when we all turn to look at you. We could cut the cake, and we could strike a pose, like the little bitty plastic bride and groom… And then begin our life-long honeymoon."
"How'd'ya like to be in my wedding… How'd'ya like to walk down the aisle… You could be the center of attention. Everyone would look at you and smile. We could send our friends invitations. You could wear a long white dress. If you'd like to be in my wedding, darlin', All'ya have to do is say yes."
When Neji finished his 'asking' he smiled, and handed her the ring. She sat their dumbfounded. It finally dawned on her that he was waiting. She then threw her arms around him and cried tears of joy. He could barely make out that she said a muttered 'yes'.
Great…she said it. He sighed deeply and held her. She said yes…
