Dear Reader,
So it's happened again, I've just read this truly extraordinary fic (SelfReliance by Imbrium Iridum) and suddenly have this overbearingly powerful urge to write something (that's how Philophobia got started in the first place). The problem with reading something so extraordinary, however, is you begin to realize how much your own story just, well, sucks. So while I tried to continue with the fourth chapter, I found that there were just too many things I disliked in the earlier chapters—one can only use the all-beginnings-are-slow excuse so many times—to finish the fourth one.
To those of you who actually took time to read this story (and hopefully enjoyed it), don't worry. I'm not giving up Philophobia nor am I putting it on practically-permanent hiatus.
It's quite the opposite actually; I happen to be rewriting Philophobia. I feel a lot more motivated to write than I have these past few months, so it's likely that the rewritten first chapter will be out sooner than you might expect.
The edited version will, with any luck, have a more prominent plot and just be all-around, a lot better. There will still be many similarities, I may even keep some of the dialogue and occurrences, but there will definitely be some visible tweaks.
That's about all I have to say; suggestions for the edited version are, as always, welcome :). I only hope that not everyone gives up on me during the wait.
