Christmas Wishes

Bakura Ryou, a tall teen with long white, silver hair and big chocolate colored eyes, walked down the busy, snow filled street. People swarmed past him, accidentally bumping into him in their rush, barely sputtering out apology as they continued on their way. Everyone was rushing around to get presents for loved ones, most likely, especially with Christmas right around the corner. Ryou sighed softly; his day hadn't been going well. First he woke up late and had to rush his morning just to get to school five minutes late. Thinking about a pop quiz, which he most likely failed, Ryou sighed again. The day couldn't get any worse, Ryou thought as he continued down the street, snow seeping through his shoes, making him shiver. Ryou trembled as a cold gust of wind blew in his way, another thing to make his day miserable; he had forgotten his coat in his rush to get to school. The only thing protecting him from the cold was his thin, cream sweater. Okay, maybe it could, Ryou thought.

Finally making his way home, Ryou called out to his Yami, "Bakura, I'm home," Ryou yelled throughout the house, not receiving an answer, he really hadn't expected one anyway. Ryou set his book bag down, near the door, closing the large oak door quickly before his house got any colder. Ryou walked toward his kitchen, which was just near the door, rubbing his arms furiously, trying to warm them. As he walked into the kitchen, a fork and spoon whizzed past his head. "Bakura, I told you a thousand times, don't throw the silverware!" Ryou said, exasperated by his Yami's actions. Ryou bent down and picked up the utensils and placed them in the large kitchen sink. Ryou sighed as he looked at his mental Yami. One, who was not familiar with Ryou or Bakura's past, would think they were twins. Bakura had the same long white hair, it was a bit spikier in some areas but basically it looked the same. The only real difference, physically, were their eyes. Yami Bakura's eyes were hard and always angry, not to mention a dark red. Though physically they were almost identical, their personalities were completely different. Ryou, being the light in their relationship, if you could even say they had one; he was much more cheerful and innocent. But there were a few dark parts to Ryou, after all in darkness there is always a glimmer of light, and in light there is always a glimmer of darkness.

Ryou sighed as his Yami retreated and left him alone. Alone.that's what he would be all through the winter season. While his few friends were off having a splendid time with their families, Ryou would be alone since his Father, and only close family member, was gone on one of his many business trips. He laughed bitterly as he remembered begging his father to stay home during the holidays, but he had said this trip was one he couldn't cancel. (Much like all his other ones.)

"Father, please stay, you'll be gone over Christmas if you go!" Ryou whined, though being sixteen he didn't care he would whine all he wanted. With his father gone and Ryou left with his Yami, he was sure his holiday would be a very gloomy one.

That's it for now!! R+R please!
