The sound of a thundering crowd could be heart just outside the narrow hallway that led to the stage. This stadium was modeled after the great gladiator colosseum of Rome, although instead of men battle to the death for the approval of a crowd, they now had to convince others to follow them into a future that only they saw. Yet, as glorious and nerve racking as all of this may be for most people, the two standing in that narrow hallway were not most people.

One was tall, thin but well built, a man who wanted to be the best at everything he set his mind to. The other was just slightly short, a pleasurable mix between mature beauty and a stunning seductress from the most private of romance novels, but those who knew her also knew her mind was more dangerous than her body could ever be. Despite supposedly being over forty years old, an age that was now being considered young with the new modern lifespans, they both looked barley into their thirties.

The man was dressed in a sharp and form fitting black suit, obviously tailored to his exact measurements, with a white undershirt, dark green tie, a black overcoat, and a well designed gold and green scarf to top everything off. His emerald green eyes held a confidence in them that he lacked in his youth and he now held himself like royalty instead of a self sacrificing pawn. The man was ambitious, he would settle for nothing less than the greatness everyone he used to know believed he could achieve.

The woman, on the other hand, had a dress that was simple in coloring but enhanced her figure enough to draw the eyes of anyone that looked her way. The dress was black in color, as to match her partner, with a plunging V-neckline, thin straps that cross her back, and a single thigh high front slit over her left leg. Once wild brown hair was now tamed and pulled back into an intricate braid, leaving just enough hair to frame a portion of near perfect face. Annoyance at other people's inability to understand her had long since turned into a calm mask of near weaponized intelligence. There was nothing she couldn't learn, no secret that could escape her gaze, and no naivety to hinder her quest to greatness.

The stage lights activated just beyond the hallway, which dimmed its own lights for a more dramatic reveal, and it was at this time that both man and woman turned to face one another. They were equals, with no judgement in their locked gaze, and looked at each other like creators looked upon something they created and deemed to be perfect. She reached up and ran her delicate hand over his silk scarf, admiring its intricate beauty. The man, in turn, gripped her finely groomed hand and gently brought her knuckles to his lips. All the while the light from the stage cast a shadow over them that made them look like figures out of a fantasy.

"I am the master of my fate," the man said in little more than a hushed whisper, saving his voice for the stage.

"I am the captain of my soul," the woman replied before they both turned back towards the stage entrance and took their first steps to a future they had envisioned for more than twenty years.

The steadily growing roar of the crowd suddenly exploded into unmatched cheers and clapping when the man and woman stepped out onto the stage. Both speakers just stood there, soaking in the applause and how everyone would remember what happens there for the rest of human history. It was only when the crowd didn't die down that the man raised his right hand and, like some sort of magic spell had been cast, everything became silent.

"Charles Darwin, a man of incisive brilliance but little charm, one said, 'Struggle is the father of all things,' " The man began, his voice stretching out to reach every man and woman in the building, "It is not by the principles of humanity that man lives or is able to preserve himself above the animal world, but solely by the means of the most brutal struggle."

"We, as a people, know what it's like to struggle against the never ending torment of natural selection. So we must ask ourselves, how did humanity manage to outlive and out gun every other predator that stalked this planet at one point or another? I'd like to think that it all started when man was given fire!" the man continued, his voice was both commanding in presence and captivating in tone.

"The fire that our ancestors used to keep away the monster of the night, was a gift from the Titan Prometheus," the woman spoke, turning to face one half of the crowd while her counterpart faced the other, "A gift that he stole from the gods, who were terrified as to what we would do with such power if we ever claimed it for ourselves."

"You could say the gods overreacted after catching the Titan. The man, who gifted our kind with fire, was tied to a massive rock and was forced to have an eagle rip through his belly and eat his liver, day after day, night after night. All because he gave us fire, our true peace of technology."

"That fire lit something else inside our kind, an ambition to grow beyond what we were. So what have we done since then?" the woman asked the crowd.

"100,000 B.C. : Stone tools."

"4,000 B.C. : The wheel."

"800 B.C. : Sundial."

"9th century, gunpowder, which was a bit of a game changer," the man joked ever so slightly, allowing a small grin to form on his face as the crowd laughed.

"1441, the printing press, only slightly less impactful," the woman stated.

"1900, steam engine, rail roads, the lightbulb!"

"20th century, the automobile, television, nuclear weapons, spacecraft, and the internet."

"21st century, biotech, nanotech, M-theory, and all of that was just the first decade!"

The crowd was now like buddy in both their hands as they listed off a few of the things humanity has made from little more than sticks and rocks. The way they alternated speaking, without speaking over one another by mistake, also showed a synchronism that was very captivating to watch.

"Now here we stand, in the year 2025, and we are on the brink of something that will change the world once again. You all know that we've discovered almost every strain on cancer in the world and have working cures for every single one of them. Thanks to that we have been able to broaden our horizons and expand into areas that many thought only the realm of science fiction could hold!" the man boldly declared.

"Through years of trial and error, we have succeeded in beginning to terraform Mars, in the hopes of one day expanding beyond our little corner of the universe! We wield incredible power now, us lowly mortals, but the question is what are we allowed to do with that power?" asked the woman.

"The answer to that, my friends, is nothing," the crowd's reaction seemed to support their shared desire to not be restricted.

"Rules, restrictions, laws, ethical guidelines! All forbidding us from moving forwards! Where were the ethics during the first world war? Why are rules preventing us from helping third world countries where a child has to have their arm cut off because their ancestor fell in love with a woman from another tribe? How is there a law that states we have to have permission from governments and nations to go into a land, which is not our own, and change it for the better?" the man's voice had grown louder and louder the more he spoke, showing the passion he had and the spine to argue against such laws.

"The answer to all these questions is simple," the woman spoke gently, seeming to counterbalance her partner's passion, "These rules exist because the people who created them were afraid of the world we would live in if they didn't.

"We are not afraid!" the two declared as one.

The stadium had grown a silent as a graveyard at their declaration, which in turn allowed the two individuals on stage to reclaim their calm demeanor.

"For those of you that know us, you are well aware that our ambition and drive to succeed is unlimited. You know that we will settle for nothing less that greatness, for both ourselves and humanity as a whole, or we will die trying," the two continued to speak as one, mirroring each other word for word in a very unnatural display.

"For those of you who do not know us," the man began.

"Allow us to introduce ourselves," the woman continued.

"My name is Harry Potter."

"My name is Hermione Granger."

"If you'll indulge us, we'd like to change the world," they finished as one.

Just a little idea I had spinning around in this crazy brain of mine, mostly inspired by the extra footage from Prometheus. I felt that instead of having the Chief or anyone else come to the Harry Potter world, why not make Harry Potter one of the founding pillars the built the Halo world and everything about it. Let me know what you guys think of this little idea and even give me some ideas of your own. Flames will be read but not listened to, only constructive criticism will be tolerated.
