A/N: Okay, so, going to do some short oneshots in the story to fit in along with the chapters. Since this is primarily Darren's POV (until Book 2), we don't get to see some scenes where it would make sense to switch out of Darren's view. So these will help solve the problem by showing the scene(s) in Korra's perspective. Some may be short while others will be long, but I hope they're entertaining while I work on the next chapter!

Disclaimer: I do NOT own Legend of Korra nor Cirque Du Freak. Both go to their respective owners. I only own any OCs mentioned/shown in the story.

Chapter 3 Oneshot:

"Okay, Darren. Hope you can keep up," I warned him. No response. Confused, I looked to the side to see he wasn't there. "Darren?"

"He was there...wasn't he?" Mako asked.

"I thought so." I searched around until I spotted him several feet back. "There he is. I'll be right back." I jumped down, starting to walk where he was standing.

What is Darren doing? Did he forget that we're looking for Bolin? He's been here longer, so he should know how bad these bending gangs are, I thought as I walked up. "Darren, hey! We've gotta go."

He didn't reply. He didn't even turn to look at me. He was staring at the street across from him with a scared look on his face. Looking over, there wasn't anything there. No people or anything else of interest. What's going on? He's never done this before at Air Temple Island. At least...not while I've been there. Cautiously, I put a hand on his arm. "Darren? You okay?"

There was no way I was expecting this next reaction. He jolted like he was struck by lightning, reaching out with his right arm while yelling, "Cathy!"

The sudden action forced me to grip his arm tighter to keep him from running off. "Darren! Snap out of it!"

"No, he's going to kill her!"

What's he talking about?! There's no one- Then it hit me. Pema warned me that Darren sometimes hallucinated, usually of loved ones about to be hurt. It only happened when hardly anyone was around, or so it seemed, and he ended up the one getting hurt by accident from running into a wall or tripping over a tree root. Stay calm, just snap him out of it. "Darren, there's no one there," I told him.

That got him to stop pulling. He blinked, looking over the street again. From the look on his face the hallucination must have stopped. He staggered, my hand going to his back to make sure he didn't fall over.

"Okay, no more walking by yourself for a while," I scolded, starting to pull him to where Naga was. But the whole thing had me wondering. Was Darren really from another world? Or did he suffer from some sort of head injury and made all of it up? He had to have gotten those scars from somewhere...right?
