It was late and Korra was walking by herself along the streets of Republic City. Naga was at Air Temple Island sleeping. Korra just wanted to have time to herself to sort out her thoughts. She had been thinking about Mako a lot recently, well actually a lot more than she normally had been. This wasn't good she kept thinking to herself. She did like Mako but she wasn't sure if he still felt the same way he did. Since he never voiced his opinion to her and mostly kept to himself, scurrying away from her whenever she would go over and try to talk to him. Maybe he was feeling the same way she was and was having a difficult time coping with his feelings like she was with hers. She didn't know what to do anymore. She was having a difficult time trying to get all this Avatar stuff straight let alone her feelings.

She let out and aggravated sigh and started back to the Air Temple Island, folding her arms over her chest as she walked. She was going to have to corner Mako and get him alone in order to talk to him. No one would bother them when they talked.

Once reaching the Air Temple Island, Korra shivered. The first time she had been cold since leaving the North Pole. She glanced around while rubbing her arms and sighed. She didn't see anyone anywhere. She wished she did.

"Agh!" Mako called out from behind the Temple, near the air bending relic that Korra used to practice and try and learned air bending but failed on multiple occasions. She grimaced as she walked towards the area where Mako is and looked at him, seeing that he was bend over, huffing, frustrated.

"Mako?" Korra spoke softly, not wanting to scare him away. Mako however, jumped at the sound of Korra's voice and sighed.

"Yes, Korra?" He kept his voice quiet and straightened himself out, turning around to look at Korra. He gave her a small smile as a friendly gesture.

"You alright? You seem a little frustrated…" She said, knowing that what she said was obvious but she didn't care.

"Ye—ah," He shook his head, frowning. "No, I'm not." He walked over to a raised rock and sat down, motioning for Korra to follow him. He needed to have some comfort right about now.

Korra followed after him, somewhat confused about what was going on. Mako never asked her to be alone with him. Was something terribly wrong?

"Mako? What's wrong?" Her voice hinted with concern as she followed after him and sat down next to him. She kept her eyes on his, noticing that they were filled with moisture. He was going to cry. This wasn't going to be good. She placed her hand on his shoulder and rubbed it softly, trying to relax him.

"It's the anniversary of…" He bowed his head down and placed his head in his hands. Korra blinked, and frowned when she saw a couple tears roll off his hands. She opened her mouth to say something then realized. Oh. It was the anniversary of his parent's deaths. How could she not remember? She bit her lip briefly and pulled Mako into a hug, and reluctantly he didn't pull away from the hug, he just said there and buried his face into her neck. Korra rested her head on his and just sat there in silence, holding him close to her, trying to ease his pain. She was glad that he was comfortable enough to cry around her. Without thinking she kissed the top of his head and looked at him as he stayed in place. Maybe he did have feelings for her still, or maybe he just need to have a woman's comfort. Who knows?
