A flash of red caught her eye, as a lone figure crossed the path that led back into the castle.

Realizing who it belonged to, she crouched quickly behind a large tree and watched through the opening between some branches.

Her heart contracted in her chest and she clenched her jaw tightly as she watched the scene unfold before her eyes.

Ginny Weasley was sitting on the shore of the lake with Harry Potter. Their fingers were entwined and their bare feet were skimming the icy water.

He leaned in close and whispered something in her ear. She visibly shivered and then giggled, putting her head on his shoulder.

Romilda Vane felt herself shiver too, though it was more out of anger than love.

She glared at the little redhead girl who dared to steal the boy she had set her eyes on.

The wind blew and the couple snuggled closer together. Harry placed his arms protectively over his girlfriend, keeping her warm.

Romilda cursed the wind as she crossed her arms over her chest, trying to keep warm.

Everyone was at lunch now, and she supposed she should get a move on too. Unfortunately she couldn't pry her eyes away as she watched Harry lean down and kiss Ginny tenderly on her forehead.

Romilda balled her hands into fists and walked out from behind the tree, stomping all the way to the Great Hall, and sitting angrily with her giggly friends.
