GODNAPPED
The hippocampus trotted happily, pulling Poseidon in his carriage along with him. It was a beautiful day in the sea, and all of the beautiful fish and other creatures were out having a swim, too. Then, the hippocampus detected something. What was it? He started towards the smell until he recognized what it was. His favorite sea plant! He started heading towards it again, but stopped in amazement when he saw the mountains of the sea plant stretching out across the ocean floor. He would have to tell his friends about it! But right now, he wanted some himself. He turned around and asked Poseidon if he could have some. "E e e ee?" Poseidon looked around at the fields of the plant and said, "Of course you may have some of your favorite plant!" The hippocampus started to shake with joy as Poseidon unhooked him from the carriage. Then he trotted off happily to snack on the plant.
Poseidon got back in the carriage, putting his arms behind his head and looking at the sunlight that was streaming into the ocean, casting beautiful patterns across the sand.
Crunch. Crunch.
Poseidon's head jerked up. "Starfish?" he called the hippocampus's name.
Crunch. Crunch. Crunch.
Poseidon could see the dents in the sand where the invisible figure had been walking, but no sign of it. Ah. It finally hit Poseidon. "Hades?" he called. "Please take off your helm of darkness." But the creature did not respond. It kept walking closer to Poseidon. "Okay, I admit it, you scared me. Now take off the helm!" Poseidon commanded. It still didn't respond. "Hello?" Poseidon felt himself start to shrink back into his seat. Thoughts were racing in his mind. I'm the god of the sea! I can get rid of this thing in a flash! I can summon the piranhas so they can rip it into shreds! But Poseidon stayed motionless. Finally, the creature inched up to the carriage and grabbed it, shaking it with so much force Poseidon nearly fell out of it.
Then, it revealed itself.
Poseidon screamed.
"What the-?"
Then Percy woke up. He looked around him. He was still in his Poseidon cabin. He jumped out of his bed and ran to Athena's cabin. "Annabeth! Annabeth, where are you?" he whisper-screamed. Annabeth's head slowly rose up from one of the beds, the blanket falling down off of her tired face. "Wha…" she said. Percy stomped over to her bed and yanked her out. "Wha- ohAHoh…"Annabeth fell onto the floor. "Annabeth, just get up. I need to tell you something." He said urgently. "Congratulations on winning your basketball game…" Annabeth said sleepily. "I don't PLAY basketball! Here, just get on my back." He hoisted her onto his back and tip-toed out of the Athena cabin and raced to his own cabin. He set her down on the floor, closed the door, summoned some water from his fountain(which had been fixed) and directed it to splash onto Annabeth. "EEK!" she screamed. Percy told the water on the floor to go back into the fountain before he sat down across from the soaking Annabeth. She looked at him with an evil eye. "Annabeth," he said. "Poseidon's been kidnapped."
