In war and love

None's in sight. It's both a good and a bad thing: good because it means that he will finally have a moment to breathe, bad because that means that they're hiding, and probably ready to strike.

"Calm down, Josuke, none knows you're here, if you don't do anything stupid, you'll be safe".

It's a life or death situation. He has to be careful or they'll get an opening, and he doesn't want to be out yet.

He's the last man standing.

However the situation can't remain so stationary for so long, or else they would've been there all day without resolving anything.

He checks behind him again. None's there.

It's time.

He takes a deep breath and gets out of his corner, leaving the wall that has been protecting him all this time. He's gonna make a run for the bush on the other side.

However, as he steps outside the protective shadow of the wall, he soon realises he's made a mistake: someone's been hiding on the other side of wall, in fact, and he doesn't hesitate to shoot Josuke.

He hits him right in the face, and the boy falls on the ground, defeated.

- And team Okuyasu wins! -.

Josuke gets up on his elbows, groaning at his loss.

- C'mon, dude! That's not fair! -.

Okuyasu sticks out his tongue.

- We're at war Josuke, there's no fair in war -, he says, triumphant.

It's official: with Yukako down within the first minute they started playing and Josuke in the same situation, Okuyasu and Koichi have won the game, even though it seems that the sweethearts have disappeared who knows where, so Koichi won't be able to partake in the victory celebrations.

- I thought I could trust you -, Josuke says then.

- Of course you can! -, Okuyasu replies immediately, - Just not when we're in different teams -.

He then stretches a hand towards Josuke.

- Yeah, I guess so -, the teen mutters as he takes his hands and gets helped on his feet.

- It's just -, he says then, reaching for his now completely ruined pompadour with his hands, - Now my hair sucks -.

- You should've though about it when you agreed to play with water guns -, Okuyasu replies, then he points to his hair, - See? I didn't even bother doing mine 'cause I knew it was gonna get ruined -.

- However… -, he says then, but he stops abruptly and he looks down.

- … However? -, Josuke presses, and Okuyasu meets his gaze again. He looks so shy.

- However you look so good like this -.

Oh.

- Oh -, Josuke says, failing to hide a big smile, - Thank you -.

He then raises his water gun and shoots, hitting Okuyasu in the face as well.

- What the hell, man? -, the teen shouts.

- And you look so good like this as well -, Josuke says, then they both start laughing, getting closer and closer until their lips meet in a sweet kiss.

They might be all wet now, but they had fun.

That's the most important thing, even if next time Josuke's sure he's gonna be the winner.

Author's notes: the prompt was "I though I could trust you" and well, it had angsty potential but I'll be honest, if there's a couple for which I can't stand angst, that's josuyasu. Just let the boys be happy!
