Disclaimer: Raise your hand if you think I own them...yeah, didn't think so.

Spoilers: None

Summary: Sometimes, saying nothing says everything.

A/N: I wrote this ages ago, simply on my own, before my obsession with NCIS. But I found it on my hard-drive today and realized how amazingly so many of the pairings in the show fit this scenario. So, it's not any particular pairing, thus it can be ANY pairing: Kibbs, Jibbs, Tiva, Tate, McGiva, McAbby, Tabby, Gabby...you choose!

They had nothing to say to each other.

All the words had been used up, all feelings bled dry; nothing remained to be said.

They sat across the room, staring alternately at the floor or each other. There was now a wall between them, one that their shouted words had built higher, one now impossible for words to cross.

They sat like that for an hour. It seemed forever. She finally lifted her sore, red eyes, rested them on his face. He finally pulled himself to his feet and tears filled both their eyes as he knelt in front of her.

"I'm sorry," her eyes pleaded, something in them threatening to break.

"I'm sorry," his eyes said as he ran his hands up her arms and she leaned into his embrace.

She rested her head in the crook of his shoulder. She pressed a kiss to the soft, warm skin under his chin, trailed butterfly kisses along his jaw, gently kissed the skin just behind his ear. His hands traced up and down her back, feather-light, drawing small shivers from her skin and fanning the flames kindled by her kisses.

In the glow of their passion, they burned down the wall, raising the heat until all barriers were gone and only feeling remained.

They had nothing to say to each other.
