Reunion

A/N: This is an alternate scene that I wrote for second season's finale (2x22). I just thought that episode was much too rushed, and there was never a nice LoVE reunion. So, here is my version! Enjoy! This scene takes place right after Veronica is reunited with Keith after thinking he had been blown up in Buddy's plane.

VERONICA

Dad—I just, I just— (stares at door where Logan just left)

KEITH

(frowning slightly at the door) Yeah, okay. (looks into Veronica's eyes) I'll be right here when you get back. (kisses her forehead)

Veronica hugs him and runs out the door. Logan is walking quickly toward the stairs.

VERONICA

Logan!

Logan stops and slowly turns around.

Veronica is still crying. She stands in front of the door.

VERONICA

(between sobs) I thought…I thought he was dead…

Logan's expression softens. He steps cautiously toward her, unsure of how he'll be received.

LOGAN

(gently) Hey, it's all okay.

Logan stops a few feet in front of her. He wants to move closer, but is afraid to.

VERONICA

(crying) I don't want to…to lose…

Logan takes a half-step closer.

LOGAN

(gently) He's right inside. He's alright.

Veronica stamps her foot and presses a hand to her face, frustrated that she can't get the words out.

VERONICA

(loudly) You! I don't want to lose you!

LOGAN

(shocked) What?

Veronica, still trembling with tears running down her face, steps closer to Logan and kisses him. He responds and wraps his arms around her, pulling him against him. The kiss is soft, romantic. He leans his head back and brushes the tears from under her eyes with his hand.

LOGAN

(quietly) Before, when I said it was "all a blur," I—

VERONICA

(cuts him off) I know. (smiles slightly) "No one writes the love songs about the ones that come easy."

LOGAN

(laughs) Shakespeare, right?

VERONICA

(laughs in spite of herself) Hey! (slaps his arm)

Logan smiles and then grows serious.

LOGAN

At least we have the summer.

Veronica begins walking back to the Mars apartment.

VERONICA

Just the summer? (she spins in the doorway to face him, smiling brightly) You think I'd give up my boys that easily?

Cut to black
