He held an unhealthy interest for her, interest probably wasn't the right word, but either way he couldn't help it. She stood out amongst the rest, a soul with an all encompassing persona. She was like every one of her soldiers rolled up into one and he was inextricably caught.

Caught by her intelligence, used often in witty banter. Caught by her passion and strength, in battle or in life. Caught by her drive and determination. Caught by her poise. Caught by her mysteriousness. He was even caught by the rare sight of loneliness in her eyes, though she'd never admit it was there.

She was even like her princess, with her awe inspiring ability to smile and laugh, love and care. She thrummed with life and yet at times she could remain so still he was certain she was no longer in the room. Those moments scared him the most; it struck too close to his daily routine.

She was innocent yet sensual, slender but curvaceous. She was playful yet regal, goofy yet elegant. She was prideful, yet could display humility. She smelled of flowers but she tasted like the sweetest berry he had ever known.

She was a leader but could still follow. She was honest but at times secretive. She was all surface except to those few who knew her depths.

She was a princess, and while never common, there were others above her.

She was a goddess, but also just a mortal.

She embodied love and beauty, and yet she knew of hate and ugliness in the human heart.

She was a savior, but she was also capable of killing.

She was a woman and yet young enough to be a child.

She was invincible and yet even she had her weaknesses, though he had never seen her cry.

And she had captured him, body and soul, though he wore no chains.

She was known to everyone and yet only he knew her.

She could be gentle and comforting or fiery and fierce. She was powerful but loved to be dominated.

She was, undeniably, the biggest tease he had ever known.

And as she laid there beside him, her golden hair intertwined with his silver strands, he knew she was his beyond a doubt.

Though he would never know why.

I personally love one shots, especially over my favorite couple. I think I might make more of these but I also have to get back to my main work. I hope you enjoyed this little break away of mine!
