"This is physically impossible."

"Oh, for heaven's sake, Nikola. It's not that difficult. Henry caught on much faster than this. I thought you were supposed to be a genius."

"Fine. Show me again."

"Look. Cross them, then around and around and through the loop, then tug tight."

"Ah, there—damn. I've seen contortionists' acts that seemed less complicated. Tell me again why it's so vital that I wear this confounded thing?

"Because no one's worn cravats for, oh, a hundred years or so. Your fashion sense is deplorably out of date."

"I think it's so you'll have something to lead me about by, like a mongrel on a leash."

"Hmm. Do you really want to know why I've been so insistent, Mr. Tesla?"

"Please, do enlighten me, Dr. Magnus."

"It's because I'd prefer you only donned your more traditional neckwear when we were at home. Alone. Together. It wouldn't do to make me jealous, would it, Nikola?

"Ahh…"

"Mouth closed, please, Nikola. Just because you're wearing a necktie doesn't mean you can't still act the gentleman. Shall we go? The sooner we arrive, the sooner we can leave. I think you could do with some further tutelage when we return."

"Alas, I couldn't agree with you more. After you, m'lady."
