DEATH DOESN'T DANCE.

Hive academy disco night. Every student in the building was dancing on the newly created dance floor, and a good time was being had by all.

Well, nearly everyone was dancing and enjoying themselves.

Reaper scowled, buried himself deeper in his cloak, and cursed the individual who invented dancing in public. He leaned against the wall, casting loathing looks at anyone who so much as momentarily glanced at him. One song faded into another and Reaper still stood there. Soon the band stopped playing, announcing that they were going to have a break, and that now would be a good time to get snacks. The crowd soon disappeared, leaving Reaper alone.

Reaper looked up, and pulled back his hood. Leaning off the wall, he picked up his scythe and walked to the centre of the floor. Glancing around at the stage with its various instruments, he snorted. "Crazy humans. Thank Kali I can't dance."

"I'm offended by that."

Reaper jumped, and a bolt of black lightning shot out of his hand and incinerated a microphone. He whirled around to see who it was. "Jinx. Don't you know how dangerous it is to sneak up on an Empathy?"

Jinx grinned wildly, "Even an Empathy who can't dance?"

Reaper blushed deeply, and turned away again. But he stopped when he felt the hand on his shoulder. "It's nothing to be ashamed of you know. I can't dance either, but that doesn't stop me trying."

"When your Death's surrogate son, you tend to mind a lot more about what people think about you."

"Want me to teach you?"

Reaper nearly choked on his own expelled energy, "Come again?"

"Do. You. Want. To. Learn. How. To. Dance?"

Reaper blushed so deeply he blended into his cloak. "Umm, yes."

Jinx took his left hand and placed it around her waist, ignoring the objecting noise coming from Reaper. She then placed her right hand on his shoulder. Grabbing his other hand, she held it in hers and pulled it out in front of her. "Come on. Show me your moves."

Reaper tried to tell her that he didn't have any moves, his or otherwise, but he was soon too busy dancing to care about anything.

People started to drift back into the dance floor, and the music started again, minus one microphone, but Jinx and Reaper didn't care. They were lost in their own little world.
