"Emma?"

Oh my god! What now?

Emma looked up from the pile of paper work in her desk to glare at her new deputy. She offered Killian the position when her mother hinted that she's never done this 'mother' thing before and that she really need all the help she could get. Which results to David taking most of the days off and her asking Killian if he wanted the job.

Of course the pirate said 'yes'.

'It's an excuse to see you more, love.' Hearing that made her heart skip in a funny way that day.

Now she's not sure she was being rational when she offered him the job. Maybe she anticipated something entirely different, she's not sure what she was imagining when she ask him but it's certainly not this where he gets to ask her questions after questions.

It was endearing at first, looking at his confuse face, but she guess the endearment wears off.

"What now Hook?!"

He just stare at her.

More glare.

"This coffee taste funny."

"What?"

"This coffee," he lifted the cup. "taste different."

He took the lid of the cup and stare at it with surprise and disgust, he look back up to Emma with an expression of a child who's been told that Santa is on a strike and won't be delivering any gifts this year.

It took all of her energy not to crack a smile and to keep a straight face.

"What's wrong with it?"

"It's sweet, brown, and have bubbles on top of it. Emma, love, I think I drank one of the Evil Queen's potion."

That's it. She let out a laugh.

Now it's Killian's turn to glare. "What's so funny love? Chances that I could be cursed again are high."

Emma took her own cup and took a drink from it. Killian eyes doubled in size.

"It's vanilla latte, Killian."

"A vanilla what? Who?"

"Its espresso with vanilla syrup and steamed milk." She crossed her fingers under her desk hoping that explanation is enough.

"You said it's a latte now its called expresso?"

"No it's essspresso, it's like coffee but—" she stopped herself abruptly because she's not really sure how to explain that part. She look back at Killian, he's looking at her expectantly, eyes still wide.

"It's Friday, I thought I'll get us something nice and different." She explain instead.

His expression change, the confusion is now changed into a look of awe.

"You know it doesn't matter if it's bitter or sweet, love. As long as I got to share it with you I know it's going to nice."

And there goes her heart skipping in a funny way again.
