Looking in

Nagato looked at Konan. He doesn't remember a time where he didn't love her. It stabs him the heart to know that she loves another. Yahiko. She always loved him more than, well love him more than a brother or a close friend. He knew he would never be more than that. It just breaks his heart.

He was happy that they figure out how to safe both Yahiko and Konan's life. But it forced him to use his Rennigan and almost killed everyone but Hanzō. Nagato only did some irreversible damage to him but nothing else. But all he got from Konan was a kiss on a cheek.

Sighing, Nagato walks up to his window. Sure being friends with the new Amekage was nice and has its perks but still. Yahiko got all that he ever wanted, even making the rain stop. Everyone knows and loves Yahiko. Nagato just stay in the background without saying a single complaint.

"Nagato," Konan walked in without knocking. "Yahiko wants to see you."

Nagato turned towards Konan with a surprise look.

"Does he really need to send you, he could just drop in," Nagato tried to say it in a way that doesn't sound like he's mad or something on those lines.

"He's busy with something, he didn't tell me what."

"Okay, I'll see him," he walked up to Konan and placed his hands on her shoulders. He gave a small smile before walking off.

Konan just looked where her dear friend walked off to. For years now, she had a feeling that he loved her more than a friend but could never proof it. Konan looked around; this was the first time she had been in his room. She had walked past by his room many times and knocked on it but never looked in. Somehow it fit him. It was quite simple with a few posters here and there. A simple futon, folded neatly in the corner. Even the mirror that hung against the far left wall was simple. The colors on the walls were calming.

Nagato walked up to Yahiko's office to see what he wants. He didn't know what's wrong or if there is something wrong. Yahiko rarely calls upon him for something. He always gets out of his office to ask him. Nagato's mind begins to race, something is wrong. Getting close to the door, his heart rate begins to race and his breathing became labored. Stopping at the door, Nagato took a few deep breaths in knocked.

"Come in," he heard Yahiko's voice on the other side.

"Konan said you wanted to see me," Nagato walked in. He didn't let his friend know that he was nervous as hell.

"She did," he looked up from the piles of paperwork.

For one thing, Nagato was thankful that he didn't do any paperwork.

Yahiko walked up to his best friend, he had a giant smile on his face. Like he knew something that Nagato didn't know. Nagato didn't like that smile.

"Did something happen?" Nagato asked.

"Not yet," Yahiko told him. "But I'll have some good news."
