Disclaimer: I do not own Kamichama Karin or any of the characters.
Note: Possible OOC/Out of character for Karasuma Himeka. Not exactly spoilers, but it hints at it near the end for the first series. And extreme randomness.

This was mainly written out of being stumped on rewriting Unrequited Hope's first chapter, chapter 5 of When the Pavane Dies. A short oneshot/drabble based on Himeka/Rika's thoughts while being trapped at home along.
--Open the door--
Flaming hands throbbed against the doorknob. Fingers twisted it. Locked. She wanted to laugh at herself—pitiful. No, it wasn't locked. She just couldn't summon the strength to open it.
If Kirika-chan had seen her in this state, she would have been scolded. "Himeka, you should stay in bed." That phrase provoked her far too many times; it was impossible for her not to hate at this point. And in reality all of it changed nothing—she still loved Kirika-chan dearly.
Walls closed in on her, as though the room were a prison of opaque. "Let me out of here…" No one would be there to hear her voice. Kirika-chan and Kirio-chan were both away from school.
And what if they were here? She wanted to laugh to her death to even consider the possibility. Of course not. They wouldn't have heard that pathetic voice of hers. And here she was, laughing away her life.
She, like any other human, only wanted to witness the world beyond her prison.
Those blank walls stared down at her, taunting her with words. You can't leave us…you can't leave us…
"Just you watch. I'll get out of here." Thorns burned her throat as she spoke. She didn't care. She'll leave this house and cease to return. This sickness will disappear; healthy as any normal human. I'll get out of this house…some day.
