Training Ground

Most of the unicorns considered Terence a bit special in the head.

See, no one liked the training ground. It was built during a period of time when unicorns actually believed in helping human's wishes come to completion. Back when they'd practice for hours before going out and finding a person to protect the wishes of. Back when the training ground was all metal and straight up attacks and it was obviously a training ground.

Nowadays the training ground was all bright and cheery, stars represented the dangers and dolphins were programmed to cheer you on every so often. They even created a protective suit so anyone who crashed wouldn't be too badly damaged.

Of course, the training ground was still mandatory and so everyone would suffer through it with sighs and heads hanging low despite the colorful rainbows or fairies floating about.

But Terence actually liked the training ground. As soon as he was old enough he started signing in. Whereas other unicorns would put in the required half an hour then prance on out, ready to go play tag or something, four hours on and Terence would still be instead running the course.

When Terence was seven years old he broke the old record. When he was eleven he could run all day without 'dying' once. When he was fourteen, he turned down protecting a human in order to keep running.

Sometimes, he wouldn't leave for a week. Just keep running and jumping and dashing – speed building up till the world was passing him in a blur. He'd finally misstep and end the session, gasping for breath and barely able to walk out but head held high.

End.

AN: I have no idea. I started with a plot, I promise. But then this came out and I have no idea. Maybe one day I will come back and write up my amazing plot. But until then… yeah.
