"We should... talk." I begin awkwardly. She sighs but takes a seat across from me.

"Are you hungry?" I murmur after two minutes spent staring at each other uncertainly.

She suggests the remnants of our wedding cake.

I object, "You're supposed to save that for the one-year anniversary."

She rolls her eyes. "At this rate, we aren't going to make it to our first anniversary."

I have to agree. I gather plates and silverware and return just in time to see Bella attack the cake with her bare hand. She licks icing off her fingers.

"Is nothing sacred to you?"
