One look, just one look and he knew. A man so familiar, but impossibly alive to be real.
Visions of laughter and sadness mesh together in his head. Feelings from the past and the shock of the present stirs in his gut. Thoughts of 'how?' and 'why?' rings loudly in his head as the man stands before him, top hat standing tall and waist coat perfectly fitted, totally unlike himself clothed in the barest he can get away with.
The smile he's seen in his dreams for the past ten years brightens the alley they're standing in. Those eyes, a blue to match the sea he loves so much, lovingly holds him in his grasp, finding all the changes he has, stopping for a heart stopping moment on the cross on his chest then raising upwards to his face.
The look in his eyes is one of peace, a 'thank god' and 'i've missed you' and 'i love you' all rolled into one.
Trusting the man wih his heart he leaves, the disguise already taken, running to where he is needed most. leaving the man with a parting glance, still not believeing that he is here, and wonders if he will ever see him again and if he will ever know the 'why?' and the 'how?'.
