A/N: I was watching Boom yesterday after I finally have Season 2 on DVD as well and had the idea to this a while after. Turned out in a pretty different way so I'm not sure the title fits anymore. Just another short Castle One Shot. Let me know what you think.

I Trust You
They were just about to go into the building when Kate stopped for a moment and turned to Castle. Then she grabbed for her gun and handed it to him.
"What do you want me to hold it for you?" He asked wondering if she was being serious.
"No. I want you to have it. When we go in there I want you to have my back. You're my only back-up, Castle." I trust you. With my life.
They looked at each other for another second before they nodded and got in.
It didn't take them too long to find Agent Shaw and the killer but before Kate could do anything he ran.
When Kate ran after him, Castle took the moment to get to Shaw and release her from the tape until she could help herself.
"Go, Castle. I can do it from here. Help Kate."
He didn't hesitate a second before he ran in the direction Kate had taken earlier.
He heard them fighting from far and hurried to get to them. When Castle saw Kate lying on the floor and the killer with her gun in his hands ready to shoot her he simply reacted. Castle shot once and hit the gun so it fell from the killer's hands on the floor behind him. When he tried to reach for it Agent Shaw stepped on it.
"I think he's yours to arrest, Kate."
Kate got up and put handcuffs on the killer in an instant.
"You have the right to remain silent...so shut up."
She handed him over and walked back to Castle who just stood there eyes wide open.
"Castle."
Her voice brang him back into reality and he blinked before he looked at her.
"I was aiming for his head..."
She smiled at that stepping closer.
"Thank you, Castle. You saved my life."
"I...You're welcome...Are you shaking?"
"I-"
Castle didn't hesitate when he pulled her into a tight hug.
"It's over, Kate." He whispered gently as she clung to him.
Back at the precinct Shaw was talking to Kate.
"You know what impressed me most, Kate? That you came in with Castle."
Kate looked over to the man in question and smiled. A year earlier and she would have arrested people for telling her she would do this one day but she trusted him. And he didn't let her down.
"He cares about you, Kate. You may not see it. You may not be ready for it but...he does." Shaw smiled at her.
"I know. One day your profile for us might prove itself as right."
The two women grinned at each other when Castle stepped to them.
"Fell free to tell me when, Kate." Shaw winked and Kate almost giggled over it.
Castle frowned at them. What had he been missing?
"I will. I hope we can work together some time- under different circumstances."
They shook hands and Shaw said her goodbye to Castle before she left with her team.
Castle leaned next to Kate against the table. She was still smiling as if she were in a dream world.
"What have I missed?"
Kate's smile grew even wider before she gently took his hand in hers- subtle enough for no one else to notice.
"Nothing."
