((10/15/15: So this is a message to both fans of this story and any new people taking a look. Now I'm sure that no matter who you are, you've likely noticed the large gap in which I haven't updated this story, right? Anybody who has seen such a large gap in updates would likely assume that the story might very well be dead, and this is why I'm writing this, it's to reassure both my followers and any interested readers that this story isn't dead. Basically, I'm currently working on a story that's been getting A LOT of favorites, follows, reviews, and positive feedback, and for the time being, I would like to put most of my writing efforts into that story. This doesn't mean that this story is dead, it just means that I'm taking a temporary break from it until I get to a good stopping point in my current story. However, while this story will be put on temporary hold for the time being, that doesn't mean that they're going to be completely inactive. When I get the chance, I'm going to go back through this story and iron out the grammatical errors that I've likely made many times. I would once again like to apologize to both my followers and anybody who was genuinely interested in this story. You have my assurance that I WILL get back to this story, but for the time being, I would like to focus on other things currently. That being said, I still hope that you can enjoy my other content and enjoy this story for what it's currently got. Thank you.))

So you know what? Screw it. I know not many people will read this because both these franchises are obscure as hell, and there aren't that many stories for either of these franchises' archives, but this has been groping around in my head for a while and I want to make it! So enjoy!

Disclaimer: Madness combat belongs to Krinkles and Skullgirls belongs to Reverge labs, I believe. I own neither

The madness inside all of us

Prelude 1: When the sisters take an interest.

"Hey Aeon, are you feeling alright…?" Venus asked cautiously. Upon hearing the scantily clad goddess's question, Aeon looked away from her computer and towards her sister with a slightly confused expression.

"Why, of course I am sister, why wouldn't I be?" She asked in return. she couldn't help but wonder what brought on her sister goddess's peculiar question. After seeing her sister's confused expression she gestured towards their TV and their two arcade sticks.

"Well, for starters, you haven't asked me to play Skullgirls all day! Normally by now, we'd've played 21 rounds and gone through some different scenarios. What's been distracting you, sis?" Venus asked as she got to the point of her inquiry. After hearing this, Aeon scratched her head meekly, she didn't even realise she hadn't played a round of their favorite game/universe. She had just been so caught up in these fun animations, games, and by extension, worlds. Deciding to shed some light on this to her sister, She beckoned her to sit down with her.

"I apologize for my odd behavior sister, I had just been so distracted by these animations I've been watching." Upon hearing her mention animations, Venus immediately knew what her sister was referring to.

"Oh, so you've been watching shit go down in other universes, is that it?" The interesting thing with the Trinity's computer is that it acts as a doorway, or rather, window, to other universes. By using it, one would be able to know of the many exploits and deeds of prominent figures from alternate universes. A veritable… lets say… WEB of multiversal information.

"Indeed I have, Venus. I was going to play a few rounds with you earlier, but this universe and the things that go on within it are so fun to watch!" Aeon explained happily. Venus then looked at the page she was on and realised she was on that "Newgrounds portal" thing. She was never really interested in all of those deranged games and animations, but she couldn't deny that she WAS curious about what caught her sister's attention. Looking closer, she noticed she was on a page that said "Madness day".

"Just what exactly are you watching anyway? It must be pretty popular, if there are fan animations of it every year." She asked curiously. Aeon then went back a few pages to the first animation she watched and explained what the franchise was the best she could.

"Well, it's a web series known as "Madness combat" It's one of the most viewed universes on Newgrounds. Would you like to see the series for yourself?" She offered. Seeing no harm in it, Venus agreed and put a chair next to her.

"Why not? It must be pretty good if it's had your attention all day. So what exactly is this going to have?" Upon hearing this question, an uncharacteristic smirk made it's way to Aeon's face.

"Why, it already said so in it's title, dear sister: A lot of insanity and a lot of conflict."

"Heh, I like it already." Venus said, looking forward to the destruction to come.

(One webseries marathon later.)

"Sis, I'm gonna have to be honest with you here." Venus said grimly. Aeon, who hadn't expected the grim tone to Venus's voice, asked timidly. " Y-You mean you didn't like it sister?" Aeon was surprised, she was sure her sister would love this series! Venus only looked towards Aeon, her eyes obscured by the shadows of the room.

"NO Aeon, I DIDN'T like it, there was no way I could EVER like this…" Aeon could only nod sadly upon hearing this. She had sincerely hoped that she could find some more common ground with her sister, but it appeared that wouldn't be the case. "I'm terribly sorry, Venus, I was certain tha-" Was all Aeon could get out before her sister suddenly tackled her in a gleeful hug, unknowingly smothering her poor time-lord sister in her breasts "HOW CAN I LIKE SOMETHING WHEN I ABSOLUTELY ADORE IT!?"

Aeon, who managed to pry herself out of her sisters hug, was just confused. Why did her sister have to go out of the way to surprise her like this? She was happy that her sister enjoyed the series like she did, but couldn't she have been more straightforward instead of going out of her way to surprise her?

"A simple Yes or No would've been nice sister." Aeon deadpanned. Venus only smiled innocently at her sister's annoyed response.

"Anyway," Venus said, hoping to divert her sister's attention with this proposition. "watching that series gave me an idea."

Now THAT got her attention. Usually, Aeon was the Trinity sister who came up with the interesting ideas. Why, it was Aeon who proposed the idea of using their humble servant to aid the current Skullgirl, so hearing her more lively sister propose something was bound to be interesting, if a bit violent, especially considering they just watched a violence-riddled web series.

"Really now, and just what are you proposing?" The goddess of time asked.

"Well…" Venus began, looking at the various entries in the Madness series, "I couldn't help but think that this universe would go hand-in-hand with ours, the more I look at it."

"'Hand-in-hand?' What exactly do you mean, Venus?" Aeon asked getting confused once again. Venus could only shake her head at her sister's confused response. Couldn't she see the potential here?

"'What I mean' is that if we took certain… elements from this world, and put it into ours, it could have some interesting results, wouldn't you agree, sis?" Slowly, Aeon began to realise what she was saying.

"Sister...are you suggesting we... take something from this world and put in ours...?" Aeon ask slowly. Venus only smirked and nodded, which upon seeing, Aeon slowly began to return the smirk. "Are you against this idea, sis?" Venus asked, but she already knew the answer when she saw that look on her Aeon's face.

"Not at all sister," Aeon answered. "In fact, the more I think about it, the more I believe this could lead to many interesting new scenarios. Maybe even a few of the threads created by mixing these worlds together could lead to the timeline where everything intersects. Although, for now, we should only start small, perhaps only bring the main character in for now and add more things in later, yes?"

And with that statement in mind, the two youngest of the trinity began plotting to connect the world of Skullgirls with the deranged world of Madness combat.

Madness database: The Agency Against Hank Wimbleton (A.A.H.W)

Once simply known as the Agency, the AAHW is a mysterious and powerful organisation that has the state of Nevada under a their rule. The AAHW has the state of Nevada under a very strict state of martial law. People are only allowed a few hours of free time in their day and any people caught after curfew are taken by the "133T police" and are never heard from again, people speculate that these poor civilians are used as new guinea pigs for the experiments going on at the Nexus facilities located all over Nevada. The organisation's meddlings range from organised crime, various cloning experiments, and limiting the edible foods of nevada to tasteless rations, hotdogs(?), and pie, the first two are laced with sedatives to keep people calm and compliant, and the third of which is considered a luxury in Nevada due it's sweet taste and being untouched by any sedatives.

Nobody is quite sure just who truly is the mastermind behind the AAHW's conception. While many people in the Anti-AAHW have presumed the mysterious Auditor is the one responsible for it's creation, the organisation has still been operational, even after his apparent "death". The only fact about the organisation that is common knowledge is that the organisation rose from the post-apocalyptic rubble of Nevada and has set up their base of operations there. Whether their reach extends beyond Nevada is unknown, as there is a mysterious border-patrol that keeps anybody from entering or leaving the decaying icon of sin, preventing any potential outside contact. The organisation decided to change their title to the Agency Against Hank Wimbleton after Hank's assassination of the sheriff, figuring that it would improve the public opinion of the Agency if they made it seem they were after the head of one Serial killer vigilante. The current leader of the AAHW is unknown.

And there you have it, prelude complete! If I can manage it, the end of every chapter will include information and misc. stuff that will hopefully add a bit of depth to the Madness combat lore. The next chapter will include a bio for Hank, similar to the ones each playable character in Skullgirls has. If you enjoyed it, please give me your thoughts, thank you!
