A/N: This is what I think, and hope, will happen if Korra broke Mako out of jail.
Mako sat in the jail cell quietly at he listened to the nightlife of the city go by through his window. His brother was too busy with his big movie premiere to really be there to be a brother and listen to his explanation. The poster Bolin gave him was sitting on the floor, the ends still curled from being rolled up many times. Mako looked at the picture of his little brother with a blank face. Bolin didn't even look like himself anymore, he didn't seem to act like himself either when he stopped by earlier.
Mako let out a breath and turned to lay down on his uncomfortable cot since there was nothing else to do but sleep the time away. He then started to think that here was no hope for him. Verick had everyone wrapped around his finger that no matter what, he would charm his way out of whatever Mako accused him of.
He soon heard footsteps walking down the hallway. They didn't sound metallic-like so Mako assumed it was one of his old, lazy co-workers coming to gloat at him again. He then could hear the keys to his cell door rattle and the tumblers in the lock move around. Mako looked up at the door when he heard it slide open and was surprised not to see whom he expected, or even a guard.
Korra stood at the door, getting the key out of the keyhole and then looked at Mako and crossed her arms. "Korra?" Mako said a little confused to see her there and not in the Fire Nation.
"Yeah, hi to you too. Come on, we have to hurry before they notice I took the keys." Korra said as she waved her hand to motion Mako to come out of the cell.
"Wait, what are you doing here? I thought you were in the Fire Nation." Mako said as he stood up from his cot.
Korra annoyingly groaned as she rolled her eyes at him and dropped her shoulders. "Ok, long story short, I was heading to the Fire Nation, but then got attack by my cousins and a dark spirit. Then I lost my memory, then got it back and went to go find Tenzin so he could help me get into the spirit world so that I could close the Southern Portal after finding out that I wasn't suppose to open it in the first place. Then I ended up having to go to the Spirit World with Jinora, who I got separated from right away. And then I learned about how I affect the Spirit World and my purpose in this world and went to go find Jinora to only find out that Unalaq kidnapped her and threated to destroy her spirit if I didn't open up the Northern Portal. So I opened the portal and he then tried to destroy my spirit, by stuff happened and I got out of the spirit world. Now I have to go back to the Spirit World, but through a portal this time so I can have my bending when I'm there, and get Jinora back from Unalaq and close the two portals before I have to fight Vaatu, the spirit of chaos and darkness. And then I came back here to get you all to help me, but Bolin's too busy with being Nuttuk and enjoying fame, I can't find Asami anywhere, the president won't let me talk to Iroh, and I find out you're in jail. So I figured that since everyone you worked with is lazy, besides Lin, I could just come here, bust you out, and return the keys without being noticed. Now can we hurry, because I'm on a time restraint and if I don't do all this on time, the world will be doomed."
Mako looked at Korra with wide eyes as he processed the information. He then rubbed his head and closed his eyes as he thought about what to say. "So, within a week, you've basically put the world on the threshold of chaos?"
"Oh just shut up and come on Mako!" Korra snapped and she stomped her foot down.
"Ok, I'm coming." Mako said as he held his hands up defensively and followed Korra out of the jail cell.
