Authors Note: A year ago I was able to experience the wonderful game that is The Last Story and I was drawn in by the characters, settings, and amazing plot! Due to loving the game, I was quick to write this poem in Zael's point of view about his best friend Dagran. This poem contains major spoilers for the game!

We never took the time, he said
We never stopped to care
We never even thought to ask
What was going on up there
Why does it surprise me now,
Why am I upset?
This warning I will take to heart
And I will never forget
Growing up throughout the years
He handled so much stress
But when it came to friendship
He was one of the best
Quickly gone, out of my life
His soul still at my side
His dying words I wont forget
His last wish I will abide
I wish things could be different now
I wish that he were here
His soul is now at peaceful rest
I wish him lots of cheer
My life will never be the same
Not listening was a crime
My lesson learned, I promise that
I will take the time
