How awesome was that episode last night! However I think we all wanted Nico to dance with Dani so I wrote this :D enjoy!

"You look beautiful"

She couldn't stop hearing those words. Even as Connor spun her around the floor her mind was somewhere else. She saw TK standing next to a young blonde girl, making conversation like only TK could. Paloma was smiling and typing away on her Ipad, but she couldn't find who she was looking for. She gracefully excused herself from Connor and walked back to the bar where he'd sat her glass of champagne. She glanced around the room, she knew he was still here, she could feel it, but where was he? She looked up and found him on the balcony of the second floor; he turned and walked into his office. She finished off her drink and headed upstairs.

"Hey." She knocked on the door lightly, "You coming back down?" He turned to face her and smiled.

"Not much of a party person, you seem to be having fun though." She shrugged and stepped into his office.

"Connor is, well he's nice but he's a bit much sometimes. He wants me to leave with him for some meeting after the party."
"Are you going?" She shook her head.

"I still have kids and patients to take care of."
"Speaking of patients, how's TK doing?"

"Really well actually, one year sober, anger issues under control, he's made quiet the recovery."

"Well he had you to thank for that." Nico said with a smile. Dani shrugged it off.

"He did the leg work himself I just helped him along."
"Don't sell yourself short Dani." Her eyes met his, he very rarely called her Dani, most of the time it was Doctor.

"Thanks." She said quietly.

The song changed downstairs, Dani turned and looked out the glass at the scene below. TK had convinced the blonde to dance with him; even Paloma had put down her tablet and was dancing with someone Dani didn't recognize. She smiled to herself, this was her home now, and this was her family, for better or worse.

"You sure you don't want to come back downstairs?" She asked. When she turned around she realized Nico, in his stealthy way, had moved much closer without her noticing.

"Do you want to dance?" She was a bit shocked when he held his hand out to her.

"Up here?"
"Why not?" He gave a small smile when she took his hand and walked backwards into the center of the room then pulled her close and swayed her gently to the music.

"I didn't know you could dance." She said with a smile.
"I am full of surprises." He said with a gleam in his eye.

"I bet you are." He laughed and dipped her so low she was scared he'd drop her, when he pulled her back up she was pressed closer to him. She could feel him breath, their gazes locked. She knew this moment, she'd lived it before, it seemed like a lifetime ago. He leaned in closer and she closed her eyes.

"Hey Santino!" Connors voice was distant but they both sighed, Nico rested his head against her cheek and laughed.

"Thank you for the dance Dani." She pulled away and looked at him, pleaded with her eyes to just hang on, Connor wouldn't find them, he couldn't, not yet, not now.

"To be continued, okay." He pressed his lips quickly and gently to hers and then backed away.

"Hey Dani, there you are. Terrance is looking for you, says he wants a dance with the great Doctor Santino." Connor smiled his best smile and held his hand out for her. She took in a deep breath and put her game face back on.

"Sure." She said with a smile. She took Connors hand and followed him out of the room, taking one last look at Nico over her shoulder; he smiled at her and nodded. He waited for her to make it downstairs before he poured himself another drink and returned to his post on the balcony, watching her from above.
