Always and Forever
Gilbert shuddered as he looked at that awful thing in front of him. He was fairly certain that the demonic monster would kill him by ripping upon his stomach and feasting upon the warm entrails and organs inside.
The thought of that caused the timid boy to scramble even father back into corner of the closet that the yellow eyed beast had chased him into. He desperately wanted to yell out in hopes that his beloved master would save him, but he knew if he said anything that the hell-beast would attempt to pounce upon him, and this time he was out of places to run and hide.
Teeth bruised soft lips, as Gil tried, and failed, to hold back a whimper. He felt his eyes go wider as the horrible creature, once again, began pull herself to the ground preparing to leap. Golden eyes widened in horror, as hot tears began to run down his cheeks and wet his clothes.
Paw step, after paw step, the nightmarish thing slowly began to advance toward him. Unable to take it anymore, Gilbert let out a cry, "Oz! Oz! Help me! Save me!"
The monster was just inches from his foot, now and the boy shut is eyes, preparing for the worse, when he heard a loud smash. Golden eyes blinked open to see the determined face of his master, who had heard his cry and come to his rescue.
Oz gave a slightly annoyed look to Gilbert, before scooping up the the fluffy, little kitten and gently placing it out of the room. He then reached a small hand out towards his best friend.
Gilbert grabbed at the hand as if it were a life raft and he were a drowning man, "Y-young Master! You, s-saved me!"
Oz gave him a flashy grin, "Of course! A good master always protects his servants!"
"A-always?"
"Always and forever!"
The two young children spent the rest of the day napping side by side. They were master and servant, knight and damsel, protector and protected, but above all they were best friends. And that's what they would be, always and forever.
