"The time to choose is upon us." he spoke confidently, his gruff yet quiet voice breaking the heavy tension that passed through the three of them.
"It is time, Inuyasha." Kikyo spoke, glancing at Kagome who was quiet, a sense of loss and dread hitting the little miko hard.
"Kikyo, we've been through so much," Inuyasha spoke again, eyes full of love looking at Kikyo as she smirked, "however, me and Kagome have been through so much more." Kikyo glared at Kagome, who resembled Sesshomaru in that very moment of time, just without the markings and such. "I've come to love both of you, but I have to choose one. And the one I choose is you...Kikyo." Kikyo ran to Inuyasha, both unaware of the damage being done on the inside of our favorite Miko as they locked lips. But they both became very aware when they heard a humorless chuckle from Kagome, and when the two lovers broke apart Inuyasha looked at Kagome hopefully, while she stared blankly at him and began walking ever so calmly to him.
"Kagome, I hope we can still travel together and be fr-" he didn't finish his sentence as Kagome suddenly flashed in front of him, her eyes and face void of any emotion.
"I loved you so much Inuyasha. I sacrificed my life for you far too many time. I've seen death more than once, for you...yet this is the thanks I get?" Her voice was all too calm, which scared Inuyasha. He shut his eyes tightly, expecting to plummet into the ground at any given second but it didn't come. Instead, he felt a small tug on the beads around his neck and he opened his eyes to see Kagome's cold, yet striking and beautiful, cerulean ones looking at the beads. "I've always wanted to see you happy, but I what I won't stay to see is you with Kikyo while I'm alone, nor Kikyo taking you to hell. Our time together has been fun and eventful, but it ended the minute you made your decision. And no, we can't be friends. This is goodbye, Inuyasha." Her eyes shut and the beads began to glow a brilliant purple, and just as Inuyasha was about to protest, a blinding white light shot forth and enveloped the clearing along with them. When Inuyasha's and Kikyo's eyes opened, they were in the same clearing, but no Kagome and the beads lay on the ground, its' color white and forgotten.
That's it! The purpose of this chapter is more like a prologue of sorts. I would say more, hut I am tired. And I'm officially back in business! I'm finally off punishments so expect updates for all my stories and quick updates for this one.
Review as well. They keep me inspired :p
