The History of the Union; The Beginning

I, Johann Nara, High Scholar of the Union, have been tasked with writing what I am sure will be the greatest text of history for years to come. Emperor Alexander Wilheim-Glockensbur 11th has decreed that I am to write a highly in-depth account of the early history of the union, when the great Thurin Glockensbur headed the Expedition to the East, and the Second Empire was just formed.

As such, I have been granted use of the private library of the Emperor, and to use any text I have need for. I shall start my studies at the most obvious year for this task, Year 1356.

This year is generally considered by scholars of the Empire as the start of some of the biggest changes in the make-up of the newly formed Second Empire of the West.

1356 saw the consolidation of the former northern territories after the defeat of Tzar Chekovtoski in 1354 (for more on the subject see the memoirs of Chapter Master Guutreik of Lapsbren; Master of the North).

The victorious battle of the Alliance at the fields of Luthensburg united the Northern and Southern Empires and completely destroyed the invading Italiv forces, ushering in the Second Empire(for more on this matter scholars may find use of Great Battles of the Empire: Volume 4, and Uniting the Empire).

These two events earlier in the year allowed the economy and military power of the Empire to flourish. The Expedition to the East (of which I am sure; no Imperial scholar needs to be informed of) was one of the projects called for before the collapse of the First Empire (some 60 years ago see; Empire:The First & Only Fall ).

In 1295 a clansmen of the family Uchica had arrived in the Imperial Court of Empress Lena Hapsburr the 4th, and had asked for military support for his newly formed homeland Konohagakure(Literally Land of Fire, for more details see; The Encyclopaedia of the Shinobi Nations), Lena the 4th had promised military aid, but before the year was out, the 1st Empire had collapsed and the line of Hapsburr was gone.

As far as records show, the Uchica clansman had stayed in the empire and married into the influential Glockensbur family, one of the seven famous wizadry families of the Empire.

The Expedition had been called for by several influential members of the Imperial court, and backed by the great Glockensbur Family. In less than a month the expedition was ready, and the voyagers had their mission, to find out the fate of Konohagakure, to apologize for the lateness of the support, and to stay and defend Konohagakure from its enemies.

The following extracts are of Fire Mage Thurin of Glockensbur's private memoirs (Thurins adventures are known by everyone in the known world; however for the uneducated fellow, see; Thurin; A Rouge in the Family).

Thurin was the Head Mage for the Expedition to the East, and his narrative is considered the most accurate of the events, as he was at the front of nearly all the events of the expedition; his actions on the battlefield and his actions in the politics of the Shinobi Nations, cemented the Union of the East and West, turning the Second Empire and Konohagakure into the greatest superpower the world has ever known.

I shall be using Thurins memoirs for most of this book, as he often had first person accounts from many others in the expedition and in Konohagakure.

This is either a oneshot, or has the possibility of being something i carry past the first chapter. (unlikely.)

I would explain what is happening in this chapter, but if i do carry this on, where would the fun be in telling, lifes a mystery!
