Finite Momentum: Causes the target to stop moving.

There's no cure for a heart that simply stops beating.

Whether you're a Muggle or a Wizard, you've undoubtedly heard countless tales of boys and girls, men and women, wizards and witches, with broken hearts. Whether it was Romeo and Juliet, who fell to a tragic demise for the sake of true love, or the Warlock and his maiden; for those of you who've had the pleasure of reading through The Tales of Beedle the Bard - translated by yours truly - the world, Wizarding or otherwise is simply full to the brim of these unfortunate tales of broken hearted souls.

But even through all that, a broken heart is still a heart. It continues to pump blood through veins, continues to beat. Maybe not at its natural rhythm - perhaps it misses a beat here or there but the point is, it does still beat.

But what about a heart that simply ceases to move? A heart that's given up all hope to survive, to keep fighting, to keep yearning for its lover?

It's said that right before a heart's demise, it's last beats are the strongest, as if before it perished, it remembered all it had to remember and re-experiences the pain, the happiness, the anger and the loss it had experienced in its lifespan.

Of course, that's only a theory. It certainly can't be proved, how could it? One would have to catch a person in the process of losing their heart, and obviously one couldn't just stroll up to the person and ask them how strong their heart was beating.

Because a body needs a heart to survive - we can't all be Warlocks now can we? - so when a heart experiences Finite Momentum, so does the person to whom the heart belongs to.

My name is Hermione Granger. I've been called the brightest witch of the era but even I can't save a heart that doesn't beat.

However much I wish I could.
