Spock's eyes were closed, his hands held over his lap, fingertips pressed together. He focused on the sensation of his own skin pressing against itself, the heat that expanded from the connection with nowhere else to go. His left pinky slid just a fraction up, center now pressing center.

All other thoughts drifted away leaving him completely void of distraction and at peace.

The device around his wrist readjusted itself suddenly, bringing with it a sharp flash of pain as it remolded to the skin. Without letting his mind wander to the boy that had gotten him into the mess he was in, he focused on the device. The feel of the way it was melded to his skin, the pulse of electricity within its circuits, the thought of how they were monitoring his every move.

The other boys face flashed in his mind and instantly his meditation was broken.

His eyes opened and he gave up for the moment. Breathing deeply through his nose, Spock still felt the relative peace that even a broken mediation left him. But underneath that was something else he tried to ignore.

The boy's face still played in his mind, bringing the other feeling forward.

Feeling indeed.

He found himself frowning at the floor and in a moment his face was neutral as he fought down what he believed was called annoyance.

If only that boy had never tried to fight him he would not be in this mess. He would not be feeling this absurd emotion.

Without thought his hand rose to his hidden ears, tracing the curved and pointed tip.

If only he had let his ears be visible the boy would have chosen another tactic of distraction.

Anger joined the annoyance.

Spock tramped both down by tugging sharply at his hair, the pain from his scalp being great enough for him to focus on.

He didn't bother with his hands this time and slid back into meditation with only slight resistance from his psyche.

The boy would not interrupt his meditation again.

Wrote this right after finishing Star-Trek Academy: Collision Course.

That book was sooooo incredibly awesome. Even my Star Wars-only Wifey liked it. |DD I'm excited for the next book to come out.

Small note: I do realize that the tracking device didn't mold to their skin. I just wanted to write it that way.

I do not own Star Trek or anything related. Those rights belong to Gene Roddenberry.
