Vida was watching Chip.
She tended to do that when she was bored. Sometimes, watching her boyfriend was more interesting than working.
Toby didn't tell her how fun stocking would be.
Whoa.
Watching Chip move was kind of like watching a train or a flailing kid on Christmas Day. He could easily be both. Chip tended to use his whole body when he moved. He waved his hands and his face seemed to lighten up when he telling you something exciting.
When he was thinking, his face would wrinkle up like a raisin. It was kind of funny and cute. When he seemed to be lost in his thoughts, his eyes would glaze over. When he was sad, damn it…he looked like a lost little puppy that she wanted to cuddle.
She doesn't cuddle, of course.
When he is angry, his blue eyes would be much like his element. It was like a flash of lightening cross his face. His blue eyes and face would become dark. Someone as happy and cheerful as Chip, it was kind of amazing to watch his emotions fly.
It was kind of scary and hot.
When he is trying to lie, he always avoid look her into the eye. That explained his failure for keeping her surprise a secret.
When he was happy, he would have a little smile on his face and his eyes would light up.
She liked that look the best.

Chip is a Master of Vida Watching.
At first, he did it to know what his best friend was thinking.
In fact, mom would tell that he would try to read her mind when he was five. He had a good excuse. Finding a birthday gift for a girl is hard! Maddie was easy. She liked movies even back then but Vee was so hard until she started to get into music and Deejaying.
His life was saved at that point.
As he got older, he watched Vee for her changing moods.
It was good to remembered there was a time that she would punch if she was mad like she did to Thomas Ellis in 4th grade. As she got older, she developed the look. She put her hands on her hips and just stared at you. Her eyes were also kind of hard and her lips pressed together.
When she wanted to pull a prank or get into trouble, she has this mischief look on her face. She had this grin on her face. When he told Vee this, she laughed and said that he had the same look.
When she is sad, it almost like she is mad but he can tell the difference in her eyes.
When she is being a softie (she would deny it but he never could figure out why…), her eyes got all soft.
When she laughed, she threw her head back and closed her eyes. He couldn't help but at least, smile or laugh with her when she is like that.
When she is happy like when she was listening to music or deejaying, her body seemed to move to the music. Her head would move back and fore. She would have this little tiny smile on her face.
He liked that look the best.
Of course, she looked at him like that too. So, it did make him feel kind of special.
"Stop looking at me and come here, Chip," Vida said as she looked up from her station.
"I wasn't…"
She gave him one of those looks again like he knew that he was lying. So, instead of denying it…he did the smart thing.
"Coming!" He shouted
