Renesmee's Story

Chapter One

I needed a break. I break from all the noise. A break from the havoc that was my Mom and Dad's Anniversary party. 15 years married today, believe it or not. So, I came to La Push, my favourite place for peace and quiet. Usually Jake brought me here. We always sit together, on the same rock at the end of the strand, but today Jacob was hanging out with Uncle Emmett at the party. I don't know how I got away.

I walked across the strand towards the rock, letting the ice cold water lap over my silver strappy sandals. The sandals matched my dress perfectly. The dress, one of Auntie Alice's favourites, was a stunning aqua-blue dress with rhinestones and gems on the straps and waist. My hair, long, wild, unruly dark curls, flew over my shoulder in the sea breeze.

Moonlight guided me as I walked towards my usual spot on the rock. I lay as far back as I could and tried to find the pole star. When I was little, Jake used to tell me to make a wish. I decided I wanted to make a wish now.

"I wish that someday, I'll get married and have children and find someone who loves me."

I didn't know it then, but that day would be sooner than I had thought.

The next day shot by like a bullet. Mom and Dad went out hunting with Emmett, Jasper, Rosalie and Alice, so I fixed a meal for Jacob and myself.

All I had in the fridge was a block of cheese, a carton of milk and a pound of bacon. In the cupboard, a forgotten bag of pasta and the last few grams in a cornflour box.

"Pasta Carbonara for lunch, Jake?" As I questioned him, I put a pan of water on to boil and started grating cheese.

"Yeah, never had it."

"You'll like it-CRAP!" I exclaimed. Why did this always happen?

"Grate your thumb again?" he asked. I could hear the caring tone in his voice.

"I always do!" I turned around. He was by my side in an instant, wrapping a cold damp cloth round my hand. I winced in pain.

"Easy, easy." He whispered in my ear, his breath warm against my cheek. I'd always loved the sound of his voice, even when I was a baby.

"Right!" I said, snapping back to reality. "Can you stir this?"

"Sure, he said, smiling back at me.

"Oh, and don't let it burn. Remember what happened last time?" I quizzed, laughing at his baleful expression.

"Yes Chef." He replied, his tone dreary. I laughed. Jacob doesn't cook much

"Whoa! This is so GOOD! I've never actually made Carbonara before!" I admitted, hair falling over my bright red face.

"Well, Renesmee Cullen, Michelin Star Chef, this is probably the best thing I've ever ate." He complimented, pushing my hair away from my face, hooking it behind my ear. I smiled, blushing.

"I'll get started on the dishes. I'll wash, you dry?"

" I thought you'd never ask!" he laughed.

I went back to la Push after that. I needed a break, just to relax. I'd walked there alone, but Jacob must have followed me. As I sat down on the rock, he suddenly appeared beside me.

"What you doing out here, Nessie, babe?" he asked in my ear
