A/N: I just love the Sinnoh region. Especially the guys in this series.
Disclaimer: Pokémon doesn't belong to me, yadda yadda yadda.

Volkner was sitting at the beach shore with his little Eevee. From anyone's point of view, it was the cutest thing anyone can lay eyes on. And Volkner adored his Eevee to bits, as a normal guy would, of course. But then it also became the time when he would have to evolve his Eevee into a Jolteon soon. He gave his Eevee a tender look, and smiled at it. He scratched his Eevee behind the ears and it purred in delight.
"HEY VOLKNER!"
Volkner turned around to see his best friend Flint running towards him, bits of sand flying behind him. He sighed seeing the Afro dude practically frolicking towards him. He wasn't that ecstatic to see him.
"Oh, hey Flint," he greeted, standing up in the process.
"Sup man!" Flint responded when he reached towards him. Why is he always in such a happy mood? Volkner thought.
The two guys went on having a chat. About Gym Leaders, Pokémon, the broadcast of the Sinnoh Champion Pokémon Battle on television but mostly they talked about which type was cooler - fire or electric.
Volkner's Eevee was curious at what the commotion was all about and peeked from behind its owner's legs. Flint took notice of the brown furball and beamed at it.
"Oh hey! Your Eevee! You didn't evolve it yet?" Flint asked, taking a gander at the Evolution Pokémon.
"Oh, Eevee?" Volkner looked down at his Eevee and shrugged. "Nah. Haven't been able to find any thunderstones around the area so I'm putting it on hold on it being a Jolteon until I can get my hands on one."
"Huh! You're still on about it becoming a Jolteon?" Flint asked disappointingly.
"Well obviously. Electric-types are my specialty."
"Screw that! Flareons are better," Filnt argued. "I mean they got soft fur that won't make you bleed when you touch it," he made gestures to go along with his argument. "Unlike Jolteons, their fur can poke into you if you're not careful. Plus, they're cuter. That's why they're better!"
Volkner sighed again and crossed his arms. "Flint, I don't care if its got soft fur or if its cuter. Jolteon's an electric-type, which I like. It's stronger than those flaming furballs, therefore its more efficient in battles."
Flint frowned at his friend and looked down on his Eevee again. He rubbed his chin for a bit, then an idea popped up. He fished around for something in his pocket and shot Volkner a cheshire cat smile. "Tell ya what, Volk."
Volkner cocked an eyebrow at his friend and his Eevee tilted its head in curiosity.
Flint pulled out a fire stone from his pocket and showed it eagerly to Volkner. He then grabbed Volkner's Eevee by the neck fur and held it in his arms. "Let's evolve it right now and I'll show you how much cooler Flareons are!"
Flint proceeded to bring the stone into contact with Volkner's Eevee. Volkner, moving quickly, grabbed Eevee back before the stone made any contact. He then gave Flint a full-fledged roundhouse kick to the face as punishment for touching his Eevee without permission. As a result, Flint flew back a few feet and landed back on land with a huge shoe print on his face.
"V-Volkner... Y-you don't have to be s-so violent..." Flint flinched.
Volkner observed his Eevee if there was any harm done, and deemed it fine. He held it in his arms and turned the other direction. "Come on Eevee, let's go back to the gym." He then began to walk but then turned around to face his injured friend. "Oh yeah, Flint. Touch my Eevee again and I'll do more than kick you in the face. Just letting you know, buddy. I'll see ya later."
With the warning issued, Volkner went back to walking into the other direction back to his Gym. His Eevee peeked through over his shoulder to look at Flint lying 20 feet away. It tilted its head to the side and blinked a few times before meowing its name at the poor guy.
