You Don't Know How to Dance!?
Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter but it's on my wish list.
Summary: Professor Snape teaches Hermione how to dance before the yule ball.
A/N: I was inspired to write this because of my friend Jon and his girlfriend. I'll tell you the story at the bottom to read it all!
Hermione sat alone on the castle steps the day before the Yule ball. Everything was perfect but, there was always a 'but'. Her hair would be managed and transformed into beautiful curls, her dress of periwinkle was magnificent and her date was Victor Krum what could go wrong? Of course, no one knew that Hermione didn't know how to dance. She had learned the opening dance as was required but with a date like Victor Krum she was sure that that would not be the only one. She knew that she would humiliate herself and no amount of makeup could hide it. She started to cry and though she knew that it was silly of her she couldn't stop. Because of her weeping, she didn't hear the door open behind her. A tall dark figure hovered over her crouched and crying body.
"Miss Granger, what are u doing out here in the middle of the winter, especially without a coat. Gryffindors can't possibly be that stupid. Three points from Gryffindor for sheer stupidity," Professor Snape said startling her out of her thoughts.
"I'm sorry professor, I was just thinking," she said as she got up to leave, not wanting a confrontation with Snape. He nodded and just as she turned to leave, he saw the tear streaks.
"Miss Granger, why were you crying?"
"Just a problem concerning tomorrow is all," she said trying to make it sound as if she wasn't upset.
"Miss Granger, I have never seen you cry, not when you were a first year and went off to find the stone, not in second year when you faced a basilik, not in third year when a werewolf attacked you, and countless other times. How could something about a ball possibly make you cry?"
"Well… It's just that… I… um…"
"Just spit it out."
"I can't dance sir."
"Ridiculous, everyone attending had to learn how to dance."
"I know how to do the first dance but with my date I know that I'll do more then just that one."
"Miss Granger you are the best friend to the boy who lived, who could you possibly go to the dance with that makes you want to impress him so?"
"Victor Krum," she whispered too quietly for him to hear.
"What?"
"Victor Krum sir," she repeated louder, her face turning red.
"I see, well you'll just have to learn how to dance then."
"The ball is tomorrow, who could possibly teach me?"
"Miss Granger, I also had to attend the yule ball while attending school."
"Professor Snape, do you actually mean that you'll teach me?"
"For a price that is, I am a Slytherin after all."
"What price?"
"First off, no one will know of this. Is that clear?" he asked and continued at the nodding of her hear, "Now for the next condition, you will not ask any questions in class for the next two weeks worth of lessons, also none of your essays will be longer then the asked amount. Do I make myself clear?" she nodded again and followed him into the castle.
He stopped at an abandoned classroom in the dungeons and held the door for her. With a wave of his wand all of the desks moved to the side.
"Here are the basics," he instructed as she placed her arms around him and his around her.
A/N: My friend Jon found out that his girlfriend didn't know how to dance and wanted to learn how and you would never think that he would know how to dance but he does, so he brought her to the basement of the school and taught her. I thought that it was so sweet and I just had to write something about it. Remember to review! He's going to be reading all the reviews and if they aren't good enough I'll get in trouble for not writing enough.
