Chapter One, a New Beginning

Jack walked back down to the 1st floor of Theater Vancoor, proud with himself that he had passed the entry test to get into the guild. He walked back to the reception's desk.
"You passed." The male receptionist said.
"Easy peasey." He replied
"The tubby guy you came with failed." The man said
Jack's mood turned sad as he said, "What!? Captain didn't make it?"
"Yep. Well get your stuff, I'll show you where you will be staying." The man said as he was about to get up when a woman's voice began to speak over the intercom.
"Hold on Thantos, we have one more that passed." The woman said.
"Alright." Thantos said. He then turned to Jack, "Wait here for a little bit, it looks like you'll have a roommate."
"What? But I thought that me and the captain were the only ones that took the test." Jack said.
"What!?" Thantos exclaimed, "You think you're the only one that wanted to join Theater Vancoor? We get applicants everyday!"
"Sheesh, sorry." Jack said, realizing that he just pressed some buttons.
Then they heard footsteps coming from the stairs they both started to look over their.
A young man came from the stairs. He was about 5' 11' with an average build. He was average in the looks department with his black shirt, red vest with a black diamond design going along the outside, black pants, and brown boots. What really stood out was his sort of long red hair that spiked out in almost every direction and one spike going down next to his left eye. On his back was a red handle spear which the blade was more like a halberd than a spear. In his left hand was a worn-out sack that hung over his left shoulder. In his right hand was a long spear like object covered in a cloth.
He walked over to the front desk where Jack and Thantos were and said, "I passed."
Thantos smiled, "Good job, let me introduce you to your roommate, Jack, this is Zion, Zion, this is Jack." He said.
Zion then said, "Nice to meet you." He then set his sack down and reached out with his left hand.
Jack shook it and said, "You too."
"Alright, follow me you two." Thantos said. As he walked out the front door. The two followed Thantos to a bridge.
"Where is it?" Jack asked.
Thantos pointed down the stairs.
The two walked down the stairs to a house under the bridge and Jack opened the door to see a train wreck of a room. Zion walked in, but Jack ran back up the stairs and said to Thantos, "this is it?"
"Yep… oh yeah. Be at the guild early tomorrow. Then you two will be assigned to squads." Thantos said as he left. Jack then saw his old captain, and the two began to talk, and after being congratulated by him. Jack then decided to go back to his house and rest. When he got back, he was in shock, the whole house was clean. And he saw tat Zion, was sleeping in a hammock, which obliviously came from his sack.
He's really weird." He said aloud as he walked around the table and climbed into bed, and went to sleep.
